Flux-Gel RMA04
Rosin flux-gel conforming to DIN EN 29454 type 1.1.2.C,
DIN EN 61190-1-1 type ROL1.
Description
STANNOL
®
Flux-Gel RMA04 is a flux medium containing mildly-activated rosin flux, thixotropic agents, and special
solvents. It meets the US Specification QQ-S-57lE RMA Classification. It also conforms to the Surface Insulation
Resistance requirements of Bellcore TR-TSY-000078. Classification conforming DIN EN 61190-1-1: ROL1
STANNOL
®
Flux-Gel RMA04 has good wetting properties, and is sufficiently tacky to hold even fairly bulky components
in place during a reflow operation. It will normally remain tacky for at least 96-120 hours.
Application
STANNOL
®
Flux-Gel RMA04 can be used for a variety of applications, including both the repair and rework of surface
mount solder joints. Since only the flux medium is used, no additional metal is involved, which might otherwise cause
bridging in "fine-pitch" applications. Flux-Gel RMA04 is employed also for critical applications when it is applied to the
pre-soldered surface of a hybrid substrate or printed circuit board onto which solder-coated component leads or
terminations are reflowed. This ensures that no solder balls can be created as might be the case if a conventional metal
powder-containing solder paste were to be employed. STANNOL
®
Flux-Gel RMA04 can be dispensed through the
needle of a syringe or cartridge, or printed by means of a screen or stencil.
