ThePageLength,TopMarginandTextLengthcommandsthereforework
togetherto setthebottommargin:
bottommargin= pagelength- (topmargin+ textlength).
Thebottommarginis calledthe“perforationregion”withprintemthatuse
continuousforms.Younormallywantto skiptheperforationsbetweenthe
continuouspages,but sometimesyou don’t (for examplewhenyou print
labels).
Thoughyoulikelywon’toftenwanttodo it, theStarLaserPrinter8 willlet
youcompletelyignorethebottommargintoo.If youchooseto printbelow
thebottommargin,rememberthatyoumightlose wordsor graphicsin the
unprintableregionat theedgeof thepage.The commandlookslikethis:

If youwantto allowprintingbelowthebottommargin,for n enterO(zero).
Butif you wantto forbidprintingbelowthe margin,whichis thedefault,
enter 1(one).
In Laserjetmode, you can tell the printer whetheryou want to print in
simplexorduplexmode,andalsotodefineshort-or long-egeprinting.The
commandto do thisis:

(notethatthe characterfollowingthe“&” is a lowercase“L”), and n is an
ASCIInumberwhichmaybeeither’’O”,“l’’or’’2”.If nis“O”,simplexmode
willbeselectedforthenextpagetobeprinted.If n is”1” or“2”,thenduplex
modewillbe selectedforthenextpage—” 1“selectinglong-edgebinding,
and“2” selectingshort-edgebinding(regardlessof pageorientation).Any
othervalueswillbe ignored.
