Chapter 6: Using the Printer with MS-DOS
This chapter contains information about how to use the printer with applications
software running under MS-DOS. In this chapter, you will learn about:

How to set up for printing with MS-DOS
❏ How to select fonts from within an application
Setting up for printing with MS-DOS
To print from an application running under MS-DOS, you must first select the
printer from within the application. Typically, the program will feature an
INST
ALL
or SETUP command for selection of printers. Refer to the manual for the
application you are using for details on how to select a printer for it.
The following procedure describes the basics of selecting a printer.
❏ Start up the application and use the correct procedure for that application to
select a printer. The following is a list of printers that can be used. If your
application lists more than one of these, select the printer that is nearest to the
top of this list. Use User Setup Utility to select Standard emulation (page 31).
The shaded printers are not color printers, so you will not be able to print in
color if you select one of them.
Note:
Remember that you must select a printer for each individual application before you
can print from it.

Configuration de l’impression sous MS-DOS
Pour imprimer à partir d’une application tournant sous MS-DOS, vous devez
sélectionner l’imprimante dans l’application utilisée. En général, les logiciels
disposent d’une commande INSTALL ou SETUP permettant de sélectionner les
imprimantes. Pour plus de détails sur la sélection d’imprimante dans l’application
utilisée, reportez-vous à son manuel.
La procédure suivante décrit les opérations de base à effectuer pour sélectionner une
imprimante.
❏ Lancez l’application et utilisez la procédure correcte pour sélectionner une
imprimante dans l’application. Les imprimantes pouvant être utilisées sont
indiquées dans la liste ci-dessous. Si l’application en propose d’autres,
sélectionnez celle qui se situe au début de la liste. Pour sélectionner l’émulation
standard (page 31), utilisez l’utilitaire de configuration.
Les imprimantes hachurées ne sont pas des imprimantes couleurs. Vous ne
pourrez donc pas imprimer en couleur si vous sélectionnez l’une d’entre elles.
Remarque:
N’oubliez pas que vous devez sélectionner une imprimante dans chaque application
individuelle avant de pouvoir imprimer.
