SEITING UP

Placethe printerin the desiredlocation,and removeall packingmaterial

from insidethe top cover. This packingmaterialis intendedto prevent

damagetotheprinterwhilein transit.Youwillwantto keepallthepacking

material,alongwiththeprintercarton,incaseyouhaveto movetheprinter

to a new location.

Mounting the platen knob

Theplatenknobispackedintoa recessofthepackingmaterialwhichheld

your printer inside the carton. Be sure to remove the knob from the

packaging.

Mountthe knobon the platenshaft,whichis on theright-handsideof the

printer. Rotatethe knob on the shaft beforepushingthe knob fully into

position.

Installing the ribbon cartridge and the roller unit

Removethetopcoverby liftingup thefront(usingthetwo gripsoneither

side),and pullingthe covertowardsyou (seeFigure 1-4).Now installthe

ribbon.(Ifyouwantthecolorprintertoprintinblackonly,installtheoptional

monochromeribboncartridge,Z24or LZ24.)

NOTE: Turnoff thepowerswitchwhenyoureplacetheribboncartridge.
