Connectingthe interfacecable
Connectthe printerto yourcomputerusinga standardCentronicsparallel
interfacecable.On aPS/2orPC/AT-typecomputer,thismeansthatyouuse
the25-pinD-typecomectoratthecomputerend,andtheAmphenol-type36-
pinconnectorattheprinterend.Thecontlgurationoftheprinter’sconnector
is givenin Chapter11 shouldyou need a cablefor comecting to another
computer.
Ifyouneedtoconnecttoasenalport,usetheoptionalSerialRS-232interface
cartridge,IS-8XL.
Followthepmedures belowto comect the interfacecable:
1. Turn offthepowerswitchboththeprinterandthecomputer.
2. Connectthe interfacecableto theprinteras shownin Figm. 2-5.
Makesumthatyoupresstheplugfullyintotheinterfaceconnector.
