Connectingtheinterfacecable

Comect the printerto yourcomputerusinga standardCentronicsparallel

interfacecable.OnaPS/2orPC/AT-typecomputer,thismeansthatyouuse

the25-pinD-typecomectoratthecomputerend,andtheAmphenol-type36-

pinconnectorattheprinterend.Theconjuration oftheprinter’scomector

is given in Chapter11 shouldyou need a cablefor connectingto another

computer.

Ifyouneedtoconnecttoaserialport,usetheoptionalSerialRS-232interface

cartridge,IS-8XL.

Followtheproceduresbelowto connecttheinterfacecable:

1. Turn offthe powerswitchboththeprinterandthecomputer.

2. Connecttheinterfacecableto theprinteras shownin Figure2-5.
