thattheprinteris loadedwiththewidestpaperpossibleto avoiddamageto
the
printheadand/orplaten.In addition,thetotalnumberof linesprintedis
considerable,morethancanbe accommodatedon asinglesheet,sofanfold
paperis recommendedfor thistest.
Printarea testmode
ByholdingtheIS”Z=&E=TIbuttondownduringpower-up,theprinterwill
entertheprintamatestmode.Thisway,youcanfmdhowmanylinesonyour
paperareavailableforprinting.TheprinterwilIshowthe’’SELFTESTTOPU3.”
onthedisplayandprintthefimtlinemessage,thenpnntthelastlinemessage
afterfeedingto thebottomof thepage.
If youhaveloadedthe fanfoldpaper,onlythe firstlinemessageis printed.
Pitchlock mode

can onlybe selectedfromthe controlpanel.This preventssoftwareinter-
femwe. Youwillhearanacknowledgingbeep,andtheprinterwillshowthe
“PITCH LOCK” messageon thedisplayas powercomeson.
Afterthebeeptone,youcansettheprinteroff-line,selectaprintpitck then
returntoon-lineandstartprinting.Thepitchyouselectedwillshowwith“*”
onthedisplayandnotberesetorotherwisechangedby anycommandsyour
softwaremayissue.

Afterwhichyoucansettheprinteroff-line,selecta font,thenneturnto the
on-linestateandbeginprinting.The selectedfont,shownwith“*” on the
display,willnotbe changedby anycommandsyoursoftwaremayissue.
