Thisvaluewillremainunlessyoupowerofftheprinter.If youwanttoretain
this value even after you turn off the power, store it using the Macro
Deftition function,whichis describedlater.
Notethatyoucanonlychangethisvalueimmediatelyafterloadingpaper.If
youfeedpaper,youcannotchangethe autoloadingvalue.
Clearingthebuffer/Allreset
The printerstoresreceiveddata in a largememorybuffer.This createsa
problemwhenyouwanttoabandonapnntingjob andrestart:theprintermay
beholdingmoredatainitsbufferthanithasactuallyprinted,andthisunprinted
datamustbe clearedoutbeforerestarting.Turningpoweroffisonewayto
clearthebuffer,butthemis anotherway:
1. Halttheprintingpmgramonthecomputer.Ifprintingstopsimmediately,
thebufferisclearandtherestofthisprocedureisumecessary.Ifprinting
doesnot stop,continueas follows:

button.Continueholdingthesetwobuttonsdown.Inone
secondyouwillhearabeeptoneandthe
“BUFFER CLEAR”messageon
displaysignalingthatthebufferhas beencleared.
If youholdthesebuttonsmorethreeseconds,you willhearthreebeep
tonesandthe
“PRINTER RESET” messageon thedisplaysignalingthat
theprinterhas beeninitializedto thepower-ondefaultsettings.
5. Releasethesebuttons,makeany necessarycontrolpanelsettings,then
setthe printerbackon-line.
Itisessentialtohalttheprintingprogramonthecomputerbeforeyougooff-
line.Otherwise,whenyougo backon-linethecomputerwillstartsending
dataagainandtheprinterwillcontinueprinting,withmissingdatawherethe
bufferwas cleared.
Selectingtheprint color
Normally,theprinterprintswithblackevenif thecolorribbonisinstalled.
Withoutthe aidof software,youcanchangetheprintingcoloras follows:
