4-9-2. EXT MON SET
Self-Guard has the A/V (Audio/ Video) output ports, so that you can connect other
components such as, an external monitor and a speaker like a TV. So, you can see the
larger images, and hear the sounds in better-quality than you can in the LCD of the
Self-Guard.
If you press [ ] while you playback the data with an external monitor, you can choose
the menu (OSD) to appear on the screen or not. However, [ ] is also used to magnify
the image while you playback the data from the LCD. So, if “1.MON OUT” is on, then
you cannot magnify the image while you playback the data with the LCD of the Self-
Guard. You must set OFF “1.MON OUT to use the magnifying function while playback
the data from the LCD of the Self-Guard. In other words, magnifying function cannot be
applied to the external monitor. The Self-Guard’s video output type supports for both
NTSC and PAL, so choose the correct type for your own external monitor. You use
NTSC in North America, and PAL in Europe. When you are not using an external
monitor, turn OFF “1.MON OUT” to save the battery.
