ASSEMBLYANDINSTALLATION

anyassemblyguard.oradjustment.Failuretodosocouldresultinaccidentalstartingandpossible
seriouspersonalinjury.
EyeshieldAssembly(Fig 1)
1. Fastenthe safety shieldto the shield bracket usingthe adjusting knob and small washer.
NOTE:Theslotted partof the safety shieldbracket must facetowards the grinding wheelguard.
2. Attach the safetyshieldassembly andbracketto the work wheelguard usinga washer, lockwasher
and rearshield bracket knob.

3. Removethe adjusting knob, star washer, and washerfrom the carriage bolt onthe lower portion
of the wheel. (Fig.2)
4. Usingthe slotted screw, star washer,washer andadjusting knob, attach thetool rest bracketto
the insideof the wheelguard as shown.
NOTE:Thegroovedtool rest mounts onthe left side.
NOTE:the tool rest bracket'slower slot must be positioned over the pin onthe guard.
With the remaining adjusting knob, install the tool rest to the bracket.
NOTE:Adjustthe distancebetweenthe wheelandthe tool rest to maintain1/16 in. or less separation
as the diameterof the wheeldecreaseswith use.

INSTALLATION(Fig. 3)
MountingGrinderToa WorkBench
If grinder isto be used in a permanent location,it should befastened securelyto a firm supporting
surface, suchas a workbench.
1. Use 1/4 in. bolts, washers,and nuts (not included).The bolt length should be1-1/2 in. plus the
thickness of the workbench.
2. Locateand mark the holeswhere the grinder isto be mounted.
3. Drill four 3/8 in. diameterholesthrough workbench.
4. Placegrinder onworkbench, aligning holes in basewith holes drilled Inworkbench.
5. Insertfour 1/4 in.diameter bolts, flat washers,lock washer and attach hex nuts securely.

Thesee-through eyeshieldallows users to seeoperationclearlyand work precisely.Eyeshieldscan
beadjusted upand down.
2. ToolRestAdjustment
Theappropriateadjustment of tool rests providesthe correct working angleto do efficient grinding.
Thisadjustment can bedone by regulating its relatedadjusting knob. Dueto normal wear of the
grinding wheel,it is necessaryto adjust the tool rest.
3. SpeedAdjustment
Thegrinder is equippedwith a variablespeed control knob. When the variablespeed control knob
is positioned to thefurthermost left position (counter clockwise), the RPM is 2000. Therotation
increasesas the knob isturned clockwise. RPM is3450.

General
Keepthebenchgrinderclean.Frequentlyremovedustfromworkingpartsandbeneaththegrinder.
MakesurethebenchgrinderoperatesproperlyFrequentlycheckscrews, nuts,andboltsfortightness.
NOTE:Thisbenchgrinderhasmadesufficientlylubricatedatthefactory,therefore,the bench
grinderdoesnotneedanyadditionallubricationduringthelifetimeofthe grinder.
