Changing the number of backups per project
You can change the number of backups that Dorico Elements stores for each project, for
example, if you want to store a greater range of changes.
PROCEDURE
1. Press Ctrl/Cmd-, (comma) to open Preferences.
2. Click General in the page list.
3. In the Files section, change the value for Number of backups per project.
4. Click Apply, then Close.
Changing the backup location
You can change the folder that Dorico Elements uses to store project backups. By default, Dorico
Elements uses the Backup Projects folder inside your Dorico Projects folder, whose default
location is in the
Documents folder for your user account.
PROCEDURE
1. Press Ctrl/Cmd-, (comma) to open Preferences.
2. Click General in the page list.
3. In the Files section, click Choose beside the Project backup folder eld to open the File
Explorer/macOS Finder.
4. In the File Explorer/macOS Finder, locate and select the folder where you want to save
project backups.
5. Click Select Folder (Windows)/Open (macOS) to insert the new path in the Project backup
folder eld.
6. Click Apply, then Close.
RESULT
The default folder for project backups is changed. If the folder specied does not exist, Dorico
Elements creates it.
