THE GRAND COMPATIBILITA’ VST; AU application; ReWire; E’ possibile utilizzare The Grand stand-alone. CONTENUTI - YAMAHA C7 - STEINWAY MODEL D - BOESENDORFER 290 - NORDISKA PIANOFABRIKEN (pianoforte verticale) - YAMAHA CP80 The Grand non contiene repliche o emulazioni dei 5 strumenti indicati ma e’ basato su samples realizzati dalla registrazione diretta di questi con 20 livelli di velocity.
FUNZIONI GENERALI (Model Page) In alto a sinistra troviamo i controlli della tastiera esterna mentre a destra c’e’ la key command dove e’ possibile definire i controlli rapidi. In basso a sinistra troviamo le impostazioni della scheda audio e a destra il pannello che permette di gestire il routine dell’audio , il volume, parametri del metronomo e gestione del midi.
E’ possibile utilizzare The Grand 3 in stand-alone. In questa immagine possiamo vedere, a sinistra, i riferimenti della midi song con bpm, punto di lettura; a destra ci sono i controlli play, rec, cycle e stop. In basso troviamo la cartella Load MIDI, Save MIDI, selezione rec e attiva metronomo. In eco mode i livelli di velocity scendono da 20 a 7 con un notevole risparmio di risorse. RAM Save e’ essenziale per ottimizzare le performance del sistema. In The Grand e’ possibile utilizzare tre pedali.
MODEL PAGE In questa pagina, cliccando sull’immagine del piano, e’ possibile selezionare il modello: si puo’ anche scegliere se deve essere aperto o chiuso. Nella sezione a destra e’ possibile modificare il suono del pianoforte introducendo i rumori tipici prodotti dallo strumento. Sustain Resonance – Controlla il suono, paragonabile a un riverbero, che il pianoforte produce quando premiamo un tasto con il pedale sustain attivo.
Hammer Release – Controlla il rumore prodotto dal martelletto nel momento in cui ritorna nella sua posizione originale dopo aver colpito la corda. Dumper Pedal – Controlla il rumore prodotto quando premiamo uno dei pedali dello strumento. Inoltre, cliccando sulla “P”, alla destra della scritta The Grand, e’ possibile passare ad un’altra schermata del sw. Nell’immagine seguente vediamo quella relativa al modello Boesendorfer.
EQUALIZER PAGE In questa pagina e’ presente un equalizzatore parametrico a 4 bande di alta qualita’. Sono presenti 4 filtri (il primo e l’ultimo shelving) con gain da -24 a +24, frequency e Q factor da 0.5 a 10.0.
AMBIENCE PAGE In questa pagina e’ possibile gestire il posizionamento del piano nella stanza e aggiungere il riverbero.
POSIZIONAMENTO Con un’uscita stereo, potete spostare il suono a destra e sinistra muovendo il pianoforte nello schermo. Se disponete sulla scheda di ulteriori due uscite fisiche, potete attivare il surround (4.0 channels). Per gestire il suono del piano tra gli speakers frontali e posteriori basta muovere il piano presente nel riquadro o utilizzare i knobs dedicati (left/right – front/rear).
CONTROL PAGE The Grand ha un’incredibile dinamica (si consiglia di utilizzare una tastiera) Sulla sinistra della Control page, provare l’editor della velocity. Nell’editor, sulla linea orizzontale potete trovare l’incoing velocity mentre su quella verticale l’outgoing. Di defalut e’ impostata la gamma dinamica originale del piano; cambiando la curva, cambierete la risposta dinamica.
Se volete una risposta dinamica accentuata, create una curva concava. Potete modellare la linea della velocity, o utilzzando le configurazioni presenti o creando dei punti da editare con il mouse. POLYPHONY Max Voices Qui e’ possibile decide il numero massimo di voci che The Grand puo’ suonare contemporaneamente. Low Notes Reserved Questo parametro permette, al momento del superamento del numero di voci che e’ possibile suonare simultaneamente, di eliminare prima le note acute di quelle gravi.
OPTION PAGE MASTER TONE In The Grand e’ possibile impostare il Master Tune di riferimento con un’escursione da 415.3 a 466.2 Hz; il valore di default e’ 440 Hz.
LOADING SCALE PRESETI Con il parametro Amount, e’ possibile impostare The Grand su una scala di riferimento. SETTING DISK AND RAM Con questo parametro si puo’ bilanciare l’utilizzo dell’hard disk e della RAM dentro The Grand, sfruttando al meglio le caratteristiche del vostro computer.
