Subject: RoHS Directive
About the so called RoHS Directive, regarding the code we are supplying to You, we can declare following information.
The elimination of the lead and other substances (cadmium, chromium VI, mercury, poly brominated biphenyls - PBB and poly brominated
biphenyl ethers - PBBE), considered dangerous for the environment and the health of the persons, from the electronic & electrical
equipment are today, in Europe, disciplined from two Directives:
Directive 2002/96/EC of the European Parliament and of The Council of 27 January 2003 (so called WEEE Directive - Waste
Electrical & Electronic Equipment)
Directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of The Council of 8 June 2011 (on the restriction of the use of certain
hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment).
About our codes the situation now is this:
§ Lead: - The Copper alloy used to make pins can contains lead only as impurity.
- Traces might be present in thermoplastic material*
§ Chromium VI: - Traces might be present in thermoplastic material *
§ Mercury: - Traces might be present in thermoplastic material*
§ Cadmium: - Traces might be present in thermoplastic material*
§ PBB - PBBE - The thermoplastic material we use to make insulating body of our products doesn’t contain any of the
dangerous substances in object. The flame retardant used by our suppliers don’t contain poly brominated
biphenyls - PBB and poly brominated biphenyl ethers - PBBE
* Traces means < 0,1% by weight for Lead, Chromium VI and Mercury; < 0,01% by weight for Cadmium.
We can also remind to You that on 18 August 2005 the European Commission published a decision setting out maximum authorised
concentration values for the hazardous substances listed in the European Directive in object.
The maximum level of concentration of hazardous substances for homogeneous material are the following:
Substance Symbol
ppm
(mg / Kg)
%
Lead Pb 1.000
0,10%
Mercury Hg 1.000
0,10%
Hexavalent Chromium CrVI 1.000
0,10%
Cadmium Cd 100
0,01%
Polybrominated Biphenyls PBB 1.000
0,10%
Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (Decabrominated Diphenyl Ethers included) PBDE 1.000
0,10%
For the galvanisation of our metallic parts, when it is useful, we use tin bath of pure tin, absolutely lead free.
We remain at Your disposal for any further information You may need.
Best regards.
