Alterations and repair
Repair like standard outer clothing.
Dispose of product if it suffers
wear.
If altering or repairing the STIHL
HS MULTI-PROTECT trousers,
ensure that the protector pocket is
not sewn up or altered.
If shortening the sleeves of the
STIHL ADVANCE X-TREEm
jacket, ensure that the Velcro®
fastening on the sleeve is moved
back by a corresponding distance.
Weight
As an example, a size 52 jacket
product number 0000 884 7152
weighs approx. 600 +/- 100 grams.
Other models or sizes will vary
accordingly.
Choosing the correct size
STIHL supplies different sizes and
models of protective clothing:
Jackets in chest size from under
96 cm to over 128 cm. To guarantee
optimum fit and thus optimum safety,
the garments should be selected
according to the wearer’s body
measurements.
Storage and transport
The product is protected during
transport by transport packaging
(plastic bag, box, etc.).
Store in a well ventilated, dry
place.
Avoid extreme temperatures,
contact with liquids, and UV
radiation (e.g. shop window).
Spare parts and accessories
Outer fabric, closures, buckles,
protectors and braces for repairing
individual products. The protectors
are inserted into pockets on the
safety work trousers. Instructions on
fitting the protectors to the safety
work trousers are supplied with the
protectors. A combination of different
protectors is possible, but should be
avoided for ergonomic reasons and
to avoid heat build-up.
Information on Table 2:
1)HS leg protector to protect the
thighs and knees from injuries with
the hedge trimmer.
2)FS leg protector to protect the
shins and knees from particles
thrown into the air by the clearing
saw.
3)Knee protector for jobs done while
kneeling.
4)FS braces are flat to avoid any
pressure points being caused by
the shoulder strap. FS braces are
threaded through the loops on the
trousers.
5)Hand saw guard for protection
against hand injuries when using a
hand saw.
