12 Using a Battery Harness
► Insert the AP battery (4) into the battery compartment (5).
► Secure the battery with the hook and eye fastener (6).
The length of the connecting cord can be adjusted by
making a loop (1) and securing it to the top of the battery
bag (3) with the hook and eye buckle (2).
► Always position and secure the connecting cord so that it
will not interfere with proper working technique or your
ability to maintain control of the power tool.
12.3.2 Putting on and Adjusting the Single Harness
WARNING
To reduce the risk of injury from loss of control and contact
with the cutting attachment, always wear a proper harness
when working with a metal cutting attachment, @ 25.
To fit and adjust the single harness:
► Switch off the power tool, @ 15.2.
► Remove the connecting cord, @ 14.2.
► Put on the STIHL Battery Belt and AP Battery Bag with
Connecting Cord.
► Put the harness over your left shoulder if you are holding
the rear handle with your right hand. Put it over your right
shoulder if you are holding the rear handle with your left
hand.
► When a metal cutting attachment is mounted, you must
install the barrier bar, wear a proper harness and always
grip the rear handle with your right hand and front handle
with your left hand. That means you must place the single
harness over your left shoulder when working with a metal
cutting attachment.
► Adjust the length of the harness strap (1) so that the
carabiner (2) is about a hand’s width below the top of your
hip.
► Attach the carabiner to the carrying ring (3) on the power
tool.
12.4 Attaching the Hip Pad to the Battery Harness
