English 5 General Power Tool Safety Warnings To reduce the risk of personal injury, keep bystanders at least 17 ft. (5 m) away and maintain a safe distance of at least 50 ft. (15 m) to any wires from cables that may be carrying electric current, @ 6.5.4. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not expose the hedge trimmer to rain, water or excessive moisture. English 12 LED Diagnostics 11.3 Mounting the Charger on a Wall To charge the battery: When mounting, ensure that no electrical cables, pipes or other service lines run in the wall behind the charger. 3 To mount the wall charger: 1 a 0000-GXX-0637-A0 4 ► Push the battery (2) into the charger (3) until it stops. The LED on the charger (4) glows green when the battery is charging. The LEDs (1) on the battery glow green and show the state of charge.
English 12 LED Diagnostics If one LED glows red continuously: the battery is either too hot or too cold. Allow the battery to warm up or cool down gradually at an ambient temperature of about 50 °F to 68 °F (10 °C to 20 °C). ► Press the button (1) on the battery. The LEDs on the battery will glow or flash green for about 5 seconds and indicate the state of charge (see illustration). If all 4 LEDs flash red: the battery has a malfunction and must be replaced.

English 15 Switching the Hedge Trimmer On and Off To insert the battery: ► Release the trigger switch. ► Place the hedge trimmer on a level surface. ► Position your hand behind the battery. 2 ► Insert the battery (1) into the battery compartment (2) until you hear an audible click. In this position, the cooling slots (3) on the battery are still visible and the battery is locked in the battery compartment. There is no electrical contact between the battery and the hedge trimmer.
English 16 Checking the Controls WARNING Never operate your hedge trimmer if it is modified, damaged, improperly adjusted or maintained, not completely and securely assembled or not functioning properly, @ 6.4. To reduce the risk of personal injury, always wear proper clothing and protective apparel, including proper eye protection, when operating your hedge trimmer, @ 6.3.

Never hold the material to be cut or attempt to remove cut material without first releasing the trigger switch and removing the battery. Release the trigger switch and remove the battery before clearing jammed material, @ 6.5.4. ► Walk slowly and steadily forwards. ► If cutting performance deteriorates: Sharpen the cutting blades.
English 18 After Finishing Work ► Hold the cutting attachment at an angle of 0° to 10° as you move the cutting attachment horizontally, using both sides of the cutting attachment (see illustration above). ► If cutting performance deteriorates: Sharpen the cutting blades. To reduce the risk of injury from fatigue, never hold the machine with your rear hand on the control handle above shoulder height.

Never transport the battery in a metal or other container that is capable of conducting electricity, or near metal objects (e.g., paper clips, nails, coins, keys).
