The information contained in this manual will help you receive maximum performance and satisfaction from your KombiTool and, if followed, reduce the risk of injury from its use. In the STIHL KombiSystem, this KombiTool can be combined with a STIHL KombiEngine (gas-powered) or a STIHL KombiMotor (battery-powered), @ 19.

6 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS – Never use a power tool that has been modified or altered from its original design. 6.2 Operator WARNING ￭ Working with the power tool can be strenuous. The operator must be in good physical condition and mental health. To reduce the risk of personal injury from fatigue and loss of control: – Check with your doctor before using the power tool if you have any health condition that may be aggravated by strenuous work.
English 6.4 6 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS KombiTool WARNING ￭ To reduce the risk of serious laceration injuries: – Keep hands, feet and other parts of your body away from the KombiTool and its blades. – Never touch the moving blades with your hand or any other part of your body. ￭ To reduce the risk of personal injury to bystanders and unauthorized users: – Never leave the power tool unattended. ￭ Although certain unauthorized blades may fit your KombiTool, their use may be extremely dangerous.
English 6 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS – Always keep the blades sharp. ￭ Using a KombiTool that is modified, damaged, improperly adjusted or maintained, or not completely and securely assembled can lead to a malfunction and increase the risk of serious personal injury or death. – Never operate a KombiTool that is modified, damaged, improperly maintained or not completely and securely assembled. – Always check your unit for proper condition and operation before starting work.
English 6 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS – The operator must mount the loop handle and barrier bar as instructed in the manual for the KombiEngine/KombiMotor being used. – The operator must use a harness. ￭ Working with the blades above ground level or perpendicular to the ground increases the risk of severe injury from thrown objects. It also exposes more of the blades and makes the unit more difficult to control, increasing the risk of injury.
English 6 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS ￭ If the moving blades strike a rock or other hard object, sparks may be created, which can ignite flammable materials under certain circumstances. Flammable materials can include dry vegetation and brush, particularly when weather conditions are hot and dry. – When there is a risk of fire or wildfire, do not use the KombiTool around flammable materials or around dry vegetation or brush. – Contact your local fire authorities or the U.S.
English 6 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS – Maintaining the minimum distances cannot eliminate the potential risk of personal injury and property damage from thrown objects. – Shut off the KombiEngine or switch off the KombiMotor and remove the connecting cord immediately if you are approached while working with the power tool. ￭ There is an increased risk of objects being thrown if cutting performance deteriorates or cuttings frequently become jammed. This can result in personal injury.

English 9 Assembling the Power Tool ► Mount the KombiTool, @ 9.3.1. ► Check the blades for damage or other problems. ► Tighten all nuts, bolts and screws. ► Push the drive tube (2) into the gearbox (5) and rotate it until the gear shaft (4) engages. ► Tighten the screw moderately. ► Align the drive tube so that the lug (3) faces up. ► Tighten down the screw firmly. English 12 During Operation ► Move forward slowly, keeping two hands on the unit at all times. Observe all applicable laws, regulations, standards and ordinances. 12 During Operation 12.1 Using the KombiTool WARNING To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injuries to the operator or bystanders, keep hands, feet and other parts of the body away from the blades, @ 6.5.2. Do not touch the blades while the KombiEngine is running or the KombiMotor is connected to a battery.
English 15 Storing When transporting the power tool: ► Always transport the power tool in accordance with the instructions found in this manual and the manual for the KombiEngine/KombiMotor being used. ► When transporting the KombiTool by hand, hold the drive tube so that the unit remains parallel to the ground. Keep the blades pointing backwards, opposite the direction in which you are walking. ► When transporting the KombiTool in a vehicle, secure and position it to prevent turnover, impact and damage.

English 17 Inspection and Maintenance To lubricate the gearbox: To remove the blades: ► Shut off the KombiEngine or switch off the KombiMotor and remove the connecting cord. 1 2 2 NOTICE Do not completely fill the gearbox with grease. 6 0000-GXX-8733-A0 ► Remove the screw plug (2). ► If no grease can be seen on the inside of the screw plug, screw the tube (1) of STIHL gear lubricant into the filler hole. ► Squeeze no more than 0.2 oz (5 g) of STIHL gear lubricant into the gearbox.
English 17 Inspection and Maintenance ► Position the unit so that you are facing the underside of the blade mount. ► Place the top blade (1) directly on the blade mount. ► Insert the screws (2) and tighten them down firmly by turning them clockwise. ► Place the bottom blade (3) directly on top of the blade mount. ► Insert the screws (4) and tighten them down firmly by turning them clockwise. ► Place the rider plate (5) on top of the blades. ► Secure the screw (6) by turning it counterclockwise.

français 6 CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ IMPORTANTES 6.5.2 Maintenir et contrôler l'outil électrique – Positionnez l’outil électrique de manière à ce que toutes les parties de votre corps soient dégagées de l'outil CombiSystème et ses lames. AVERTISSEMENT ￭ Pour garder une prise ferme et pour contrôler correctement votre outil électrique : – Gardez les poignées propres et sèches à tout moment. Gardez-les exemptes d’humidité, de poix, d’huile, de graisse et de résine.
français – Pour une meilleure tenue sur pieds, écartez toujours les branches tombées au sol, les broussailles, les chutes et autres matériels, objets ou végétations qui augmentent le risque de glissade, de trébuchement ou de chute. – N’utilisez jamais l’appareil au-dessus de la hauteur de la ceinture. – Ne vous penchez pas trop. ￭ Pour un meilleur contrôle et une moindre fatigue, il est conseillé de tenir l'outil électrique bien équilibré.

français 7 Maintenance, réparation et rangement ￭ Des lames fissurées, endommagées ou usées peuvent se casser à une vitesse élevée et provoquer des blessures graves, voire mortelles. – Remplacez immédiatement les lames fissurées, pliées, déformées, endommagées, émoussées ou usées, même si les dommages semblent se limiter à des fissures superficielles. – N'utilisez jamais un outil électrique dont l'outil CombiSystème ou les lames sont desserrés ou endommagés.
français 8 Avant d'entreprendre le travail d'entretien ou de réparation et avant de ranger l'outil à moteur et à tout autre moment, lorsque celui-ci n'est pas en service. ￭ L’utilisation de pièces qui ne sont pas autorisées ou homologuées par STIHL peut causer des blessures graves ou la mort ou des dommages matériels. – STIHL recommande d’utiliser exclusivement des pièces de rechange STIHL identiques.
français 9 Montage de l’outil électrique Relier le tube d'entraînement à la boîte de vitesses 9.3 9.3.1 Pour relier le tube d'entraînement à la boîte de vitesses : . 3 2 1 2 2 5 4 6 ► Retirez les capuchons de protection (1) des deux extrémités du tube d'entraînement (2). ► Desserrez la vis (6). ► Introduisez le tube d'entraînement (2) dans la boîte de vitesses (5) et faites-le tourner jusqu'à ce que l'arbre de transmission (4) s'enclenche. ► Serrez modérément la vis.

Ne touchez jamais les lames en mouvement avec votre main ou toute autre partie de votre corps, @ 6.5.4.
français 14 Transport 14 Transport 15 Rangement 14.1 Transport de l'outil CombiSystème 15.1 Entreposage de l’outil CombiSystème AVERTISSEMENT Pour réduire le risque de blessure en cas de perte de contrôle et de contact avec les lames, ne transportez jamais votre outil à moteur avec les lames en mouvement, @ 6.5.4. Assurez-vous que les lames se sont immobilisées avant d’abaisser l’outil à moteur, @ 6.5.4.
16 Nettoyage français Pour nettoyer l’outil CombiSystème : ► Nettoyez les composants polymères avec un chiffon légèrement humide. N’utilisez pas de détergents ou de solvants qui pourraient endommager les composants en polymère. ► N’utilisez pas de nettoyeur haute pression pour nettoyer l’appareil et ne pulvérisez pas d’eau ou d’autres liquides sur celui-ci. AVIS N’arrosez jamais l’outil CombiSystème avec de l'eau. L'arroser avec un jet d'eau pourrait endommager l’outil. 16.

Effectuez uniquement les opérations de maintenance décrites dans le présent manuel.
français 17 Inspection et maintenance Pour lubrifier la boîte de transmission : Pour enlever les lames : ► Éteignez le moteur CombiSystème et retirez le cordon de raccordement. ► Retirez le bouchon à visser (2). ► Si vous ne voyez pas de graisse à l’intérieur du bouchon à visser, vissez le tube (1) de lubrifiant pour engrenage STIHL dans le trou de remplissage. ► Pressez au maximum 0,2 oz (5 g) de lubrifiant pour engrenage STIHL dans la boîte de transmission.
français 17 Inspection et maintenance 17.4.2 Montage des lames Pour monter les lames : ► Éteignez le moteur CombiSystème et retirez le cordon de raccordement. 0000-GXX-8741-A0 1 6 5 4 3 0000-GXX-8734-A0 2 120° ► Positionnez l'appareil de manière à ce que vous vous trouviez face à la face inférieure du support de lame. ► Placez la lame supérieure (1) directement sur le support de lame. ► Insérez les vis (2) et serrez-les fermement en les tournant dans le sens horaire.
français 2 1 0000-GXX-8742-A0 17 Inspection et maintenance ► Utilisez une lime plate pour affûter des lames émoussées (1). Dans le cas d’une usure ou d’entailles plus sérieuses, réaffûtez avec une affûteuse ou faites-le affûter par un distributeur agréé STIHL. ► Affûtez fréquemment et enlevez aussi peu de métal que nécessaire pour créer une arête tranchante (2). Deux ou trois coups de lime sont généralement suffisants. ► Réaffûtez les dents uniformément.
