12 Switching the Drive On and Off
► Hold the handle (3) and switch lever (2) for blade drive
firmly with your right hand so that your thumb is wrapped
around the handle (3).
11.2 Switching Off the Mower
► Release the switch lever for wheel drive.
► Wait for the blade to come to a standstill.
► If the blade continues to rotate: Remove the activation key
and battery, and contact your STIHL servicing dealer for
assistance.
There is a malfunction in the mower.
12.1 Switching On Drive
The mower’s speed is infinitely variable between 1 km/h and
4.5 km/h. The mower travels at top speed in position . The
mower travels at the lowest speed in position .
The selected speed affects the battery’s runtime. The lower
the speed, the longer the battery’s runtime.
► Place the mower on a flat surface.
► Pull the drive’s switch lever (1) up to the handle (2) and
hold it so that your thumb is wrapped around the handle
(2).
The mower begins to move forwards.
► Set the lever (3) to the required position.
12.2 Switching Off Drive
► Release the drive’s switch lever.
► Wait until the mower comes to a standstill.
► If the mower does not stop: Remove the activation key and
battery, and contact your STIHL servicing dealer for
assistance.
There is a malfunction in the mower.
13.1 Checking the Controls
Lockout button and switch lever for blade drive
► Pull out the activation key.
► Remove the battery.
► Depress the lockout button and release it again.
► Pull the switch lever for blade drive fully in direction of
handle and release it again.
► If the lockout button or switch lever for blade drive is stiff
or does not spring back to the idle position: Do not use
your mower and contact your STIHL servicing dealer for
assistance.
There is a malfunction in the lockout button or switch
lever.
Switch lever for wheel drive
► Pull out the activation key.
► Remove the battery.
► Pull the switch lever for wheel drive fully in direction of
handle and release it again.
► If the switch lever for wheel drive is stiff or does not spring
back to its idle position: Do not use your mower and
contact your STIHL servicing dealer for assistance.
There is a malfunction in the switch lever for wheel drive.

► Pull out the activation key.
► Remove the battery.
