5 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
– Do not touch the mowing blade while the battery and
fuse key are inserted in the lawn mower.
■ To reduce the risk of serious or fatal cut injuries to the
operator or bystanders from loss of control, keep proper
footing and balance at all times:
– Never work with the lawn mower in the rain or in wet
or very damp conditions.
– Make sure you have good balance and a secure
footing at all times.
– Take special care in overgrown terrain and always
watch for hidden obstacles such as tree stumps,
roots, rocks, holes and ditches to avoid stumbling or
falling.
– Be extremely cautious when working on slopes or
uneven ground.
– For better footing, always clear away fallen
branches, scrub, cuttings and other material, objects
or vegetation that can increase the danger of
slipping, tripping or falling.
– Do not overreach.
■ To reduce the risk of serious injuries to the operator or
bystanders from loss of control:
25° slope gradient represents a vertical gradient of
b = 18.3 in. (46.6 cm) at a = 39.4 in. (100 cm) horizontal
length.
– Never attempt to clear clippings or debris
from the mowing blade or discharge
chutes without first switching off the lawn
mower and removing the fuse key and
battery.
– Do not mow near drop offs, ditches or
embankments. You could lose your
footing and balance.
– Be extremely cautious when working on
slopes or uneven ground. Do not operate
the lawn mower on excessively steep
slopes. Slopes are a major factor related
to slip and fall accidents, which in turn
can result in severe injury.
– Operate this lawn mower only on slopes
with gradients of up to 25°.
– Mow parallel to the slope, never up or
down. Take particular care when
changing direction on slopes.
– Do not pull the mower backwards unless
absolutely necessary. Always look down
and behind before and while mowing
backwards.
