IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Please read these instructions before using the Stinger Insect Zapper Lantern and keep for future reference.
1. WARNING: Keep unit and adaptor cord out of reach of children.
2. Do not use this product for other than its intended use.
3. The product should be powered only as described in this Owner’s Manual or as marked on the unit.
4. Only use the AC adaptor that is provided with this unit. Using an adaptor with different voltage, or one that is not intended for the unit, may cause damage to
unit, damage to personal property or personal injury.
5. For indoor/outdoor residential use only – not intended for permanent installation or use.
6. Do not insert fingers or any foreign objects into the unit while it is ON or connected to a power source.
7. Collected insects within the unit may contribute to fire. Clean dead insects from the unit frequently.
8. Do not clean this product with water, spray or any other liquids. Do not place where it can fall into water.
9. Do not cover the product with cloth, paper or any material not part of the product when in use.
10. Do not place the unit near heat, gas, oil or other flammable materials.
11. Store product indoors when not in use – out of reach of children.
12. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, always turn product OFF and disconnect from power source before servicing, cleaning and changing bulbs.
13. All power connections should be kept off the ground and dry.
HOW THE STINGER INSECT ZAPPER LANTERN WORKS
The Stinger Insect Zapper Lantern is designed to attract and kill a wide range of flying insects. The ultraviolet
(UV) light given off by this unit is within the luminescent range proven effective to lure these insects. Insects
are attracted to the light and killed as they contact the electrically charged grid area. Insects fall into the bug
tray. The outer protective cage helps prevent pets, birds, butterflies, and children’s fingers from contacting
the charged grids. This unit is for indoor/outdoor residential use only.
CHOOSING A LOCATION (Figure 1)
When selecting a location, please remember that insects will be lured to the unit. In Bug Zapping mode, the Stinger
Insect Zapper Lantern will effectively cover up to 625 sq ft., approximately the size of a 25x25 deck or patio space. For
best results, hang or position the insect zapper between the source of insects (yard, woods) and the area to be protected,
but no more than 10-14 ft. from human activity.

OPERATION
Although the unit may come partially charged from the factory, we recommend that you fully charge the battery before first
use using the included AC adaptor.
Only use the AC adaptor that is provided with this unit. Using an adaptor with different voltage, or one that is not intended for
the unit, may cause damage to unit, damage to personal property or personal injury.
Before first use, remove and discard the cardboard inserts from both the bug tray and grill.
1. To charge the unit, plug the AC adaptor into the charging port located on the side of the unit. ALWAYS ensure that the
unit is in the OFF position (0) when charging.
NOTE: This unit comes with a safety feature whereby if the bug tray is open, the unit will not operate. Please ensure that
the bug tray is fully closed before use.
2. Locate the Power switch on the back of the unit.
3. This Insect Zapper Lantern has 2 operating modes – Lantern-only or UV Bug Zapping.
a. By pushing the switch to the side with 1 line (I), the unit will operate in Bug Zapping mode, using only the insect
zapping UV bulb. The LED lights will not operate in this mode.
b. By pushing the switch to the side with 2 lines (II), the unit will operate as a Lantern, using LED lighting only. The
insect zapping UV bulb will not operate in this mode.
4. Turn the unit OFF by positioning the switch in the center, indicated with a circle (O).
5. Using the available lure will add to the effectiveness of the unit by adding scent proven to attract more insects to the unit.
6. It is recommended that this unit be stored indoors during inclement weather.

DIAGNÓSTICO Y SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS
La unidad no se enciende, no parece haber voltaje en la rejilla.
• Asegúrese que la unidad esté cargada.
• Asegúrese que la bandeja de bichos esté completamente cerrada.
La unidad no se enciende, la rejilla tiene voltaje.
• Revise la bombilla para asegurarse que esté bien colocada. • Cambien la bombilla si es necesario.
La unidad parece estar funcionado bien pero la población de insectos no parece disminuir.
• Permita que pase más tiempo, ya que los insectos se tardarán algún tiempo en encontrar la unidad.
• Intente mover la unidad a otra área en el patio. Si usted está entre la unidad y la fuente de los insectos, estos tendrán de volar hacia
usted para llegar a la unidad y usted notará un aumento en el número de insectos.
La unidad está formando constantemente un arco eléctrico (chispeando).

CAMBIO DE BOMBILLAS (Figure 5)
Use sólo bombillas de reemplazo Stinger. Las bombillas deben ser reemplazadas anualmente para mantener la óptima eficacia UV. Aunque la luz de la bombilla
pueda ser visible para usted, su capacidad de atraer insectos disminuye con el paso del tiempo. Si la bombilla no enciende o si el color de la luz cambia a amarillo
o anaranjado es momento de cambiar la bombilla. Vea las ESPECIFICACIONES DEL PRODUCTO para el tipo de bombilla de reemplazo de su dispositivo.

Un señuelo de octanol NOsquito de Stinger (NS16) está incluido en esta unidad. Las investigaciones han demostrado que el octanol
es eficaz en atraer muchas especies de mosquitos y moscas. Este señuelo tiene propiedades de liberación lenta y aumenta la
eficacia de atraer los mosquitos a la unidad. Para obtener mejores resultados, cambie el señuelo cada 30 días.
1. Abra el señuelo pelando la cubierta de aluminio.
2. Este modelo tiene un sujetador especialmente diseñado en la bandeja de bichos. Simplemente deslice el señuelo en este
sujetador en la parte trasera de la bandeja con el lado expuesto de octanol orientado a la bandeja (Figura 4). Deslice la bandeja
de bichos con el señuelo de vuelta a la unidad.
3. Para retirar – jale la bandeja de bichos hacia afuera, sujete el señuelo de la lengüeta extendida y deslice hacia afuera.
LIMPIEZA
Como la unidad mata insectos, la mayoría de sus restos serán vaporizados o caerán a través de la unidad. Algunos restos se quedarán en las rejillas o se
acumularán en la base de la unidad. Esto puede reducir la eficacia del dispositivo. Revise su unidad frecuentemente y límpiela con regularidad. El tiempo entre
cada limpieza variará dependiendo de la población de insectos.
1. Antes de limpiar la unidad, asegúrese SIEMPRE que el interruptor esté en posición APAGADO y el Adaptador de CA esté desconectado.
2. Retire la bombilla de la unidad para evitar daños (vea las instrucciones anteriores).
3. Utilizando aire comprimido, retire cualquier resto de insecto de la rejilla exterminadora y del recinto inferior.
4. Nunca utilice agua para limpiar la unidad. El agua puede dañar los componentes eléctricos.
5. Tenga mucho cuidado de no mover o ajustar de ninguna manera las rejillas de metal.
6. Una vez que la unidad esté limpia, vuelva a colocar la bombilla y la bandeja de bichos.
Nota: Si la unidad no se enciende después de cambiar la bombilla, desconecte la unidad, retire la bombilla y vuélvala a
colocar en el portabombillas.

INSTALACIÓN DEL SEÑUELO DE MOSQUITO NOSQUITO
®
1. Asegúrese que la unidad esté APAGADA y el Adaptador de CA desconectado.
2. Retire la bandeja de bichos y coloque la unidad de lado. NO APOYE LA UNIDAD EN LA SUPERFICIE SIN DEJAR DE
SOSTENERLA. No se detendrá por si sola.
3. Alcance y jale hacia afuera para sacar la bombilla vieja. Deseche la bombilla adecuadamente.
4. Inserte la bombilla nueva asegurándose que esté colocada correctamente en el portalámparas.(Figura 5)
5. Regrese la unidad a la posición vertical y vuelva a colocar la bandeja de bichos.
