Use and Care Manual
Add a small amount of the black metallic
epoxy at first, a little bit goes a long way!
The Ultimate Top Coat will be dry to
the touch in 8–9 hours and ready for
light kitchen use in 24 hours.
Thin the material to the consistency of
latex paint. Mix again after adding the
water.
Shut any HVAC vents above the curing
surfaces and turn off fans.
POUR THE BLACK MIXTURE ON THE
SURFACE
Add thin lines of the black metallic tinted
epoxy over the white metallic tinted epoxy.
DAB THE EPOXY AGAIN
Use the same 2″ angled nylon paint brush to
marbleize the black & white epoxy together to
create Carrara marble countertops.
HEAT THE SURFACE
Remove air bubbles incorporated into the
epoxy with a heat gun, propane torch, or hair
dryer. Sweep the surface of the project holding
the torch or heat gun 1–2″ from the surface.
Sweep front to back and side to side across the
entire project to ensure all the air has been
removed.
Use extreme caution when using heating
elements and follow all manufacturer
guidelines for safety.

SAND THE SURFACE
Lightly hand sand the surface and edges of the
cured epoxy countertop with 220-grit
sandpaper. Wipe the dust with paper towels or
a microfiber rag.
SHAKE PART A
Shake part A of the Stone Coat Countertops
Ultimate Top Coat for 30 seconds before
mixing. Keep it tightly sealed.
COMBINE AND STIR
In a clean, dry container, measure in a 2:1 ratio
by volume for parts A and B. Mix thoroughly for
2–3 minutes using a stir stick.
ADD WATER
After thoroughly mixing, add up to 5% water
for thinning to desired consistency and mix
once more.
POUR AND ROLL
Pour the mixed Stone Coat Countertops
Ultimate Top Coat into a clean roller pan and
spread evenly over the countertop using a 1/4″
microfiber roller. Cover the project completely,
rolling in both directions.
DRY ROLL LIGHTLY
As a final step, use a clean 1/4″ microfiber roller
and lightly roll it over the surface to remove
excess material. Avoid over rolling and applying
too much pressure.
PHASE 5
CURING
Allow the epoxy to cure for 24 hours. Keep the
room temperature above 65°F and minimize
air movement for the first 24 hours.
SCRAPE OFF THE DRIPS
Drips can be minimized by taking a metal
putty knife and scraping the underside of the
overhang. This should be done once the epoxy
stops flowing but is still liquid enough to
scrape away (about 3–4 hours after application
at 70°F). Hardened or cured drips can be
sanded off.

PHASE 4 CONTINUED
We recommend using soap and water to clean your countertops. Countertop cleaners that are made
to be used with Formica, Corian, Laminate, Cultured Marble and other man-made materials are also
great to use for cleaning your Stone Coat Countertop.
The normal range for a refresh can vary depending on use and care. We recommend refreshing after
a few years or when you start to notice any dullness or micro-scratches.
- To renew your Stone Coat Countertop, you can simply sand and polish. You can also add a
clear coat after sanding.
- Countertops with heavy use (e.g. rental properties) may need to be renewed every 2–3 years.
The great thing with epoxy countertops is that you can renew or refresh whenever you want or need!
