If converting to gas unit, follow all above safety
requirements as well as those of the gas insert
Note: Excessive heat may cause concrete blocks to crack or turn
black in color. Avoid discoloration and/or cracking by placing
aggregate such as sand or lava rock in the base of the pit to
dissipate heat. The steel ring insert is subject to natural
deterioration due to weather conditions and heat exposure.
StoneBilt Concepts does not warrant the steel ring insert.
Efflorescence, a whitish, powder like substance that can appear on
block, is a natural occurring by-product of concrete and will
disappear over time or with the use of efflorescence cleaner.
