9-Bay LVD Cable Kit 1

INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect all power and remove cables from the Data Silo chassis.

2. Open the Data Silo chassis to gain access to the internal cables and rear

panel I/O connectors. Refer to the Data Silo User's Guide for more infor-

mation on this procedure.

3. Remove existing internal SCSI ribbon cable if installed.

4. Verify that all devices within the Data Silo chassis have any and all

termination disabled.

The DCREMLVD-KIT, an internal cable kit designed for the StorCase



Data Silo

9-bay rack mount or tower chassis, allows the DS400 or DS500 to be used for

SCSI Ultra160 applications implementing specific models of the Data Express

removable drive enclosure. Contact StorCase for further information.

The DCREMLVD-KIT consists of an internal 9-drive ribbon cable, LVD/S.E.

terminator, and a VHDCI rear panel adapter plate.

9-Bay LVD Cable Kit 5. Remove existing chassis rear panel connector(s) if necessary. 6. Connect the internal SCSI ribbon cable to the VHDCI adapter plate and installed devices. 7. Attach the VHDCI adapter plate (see figure below for proper orientation of the adapter plate) to the Data Silo rear panel with the two (2) screws provided. 8.
