ETAPE 1 – CONNECTION TO A TV SET HDMI A/V (Composite video and 2CH AUDIO) Most of the HDMI TV sets do not support the interlaced signal (576i/480i), which is a default video output setting of this unit. Please press the TV system button on the remote control to get the correct signal when you connect your TV set to the HDMI cable. Scart 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
STEP 2 – Formatting the hard disk When you switch on your AivX-385HDRW, the following dialog box will be displayed. Select OK by pressing the Enter button on your remote control or by the OK button on the front panel. NOTE •By performing a formatting, this will erase the whole content and the data from the hard disk. Please format the hard disk after saving the content and the important data. • The above dialog box cannot be displayed on your computer if it is connected with an HDMI cable.
Recording and Multimedia hard disk capacity 1. 2. Press ▲, ▼ to select each recording and multimedia partition capacity. Press the ► button and select Next by pressing the Enter button or the OK button on the front panel. NOTE : Recording partition : the hard disk space on which you are recording the content of an AV input such as a decoder, a VCR or a camcorder. Multimedia partition : the hard disk space on which you copy AV files and photo files. Such as *.ts, *.tp, *.avi, *.mpg, *.jpg, *.wma, *.
Performing the formatting 1. 2. Press the ► button and select Format by pressing the Enter button or the OK button on the front panel and the formatting will start. Select OK by pressing the Enter button or the OK button on the front panel. Formatting is complete. NOTE: Please do not format your computer again. AivX-385HDRW will consider it as a new HARD DISK if it is connected.
STEP 3 – Initial configuration When you have formatted the HARD DISK of your AIVX-385HDRW, you can set the language, the time or LAN. The following dialog box of the initial configuration will be displayed. 1. 2. Select your language by pressing the ▲, ▼ and Enter buttons to confirm. Set date and time by pressing the numerical buttons and the ▲, ▼ buttons then press Enter to confirm. 3. Select OK and press Enter when you are prompted to do so.

Select DHCP IP (Auto) or Fix IP (Manual) according to the IP status by pressing the ▲, ▼ and press Enter to confirm. o o o If you select DHCP IP (Auto) the IP address will be set according to your network DHCP Select Cancel if you do not want any available network or if you do not want to set it up now. Select Fix IP (Manual), set LAN manually according to your network by pressing the numerical keys or the ▲, ▼ buttons then press Enter to confirm. 5.
STEP 4 – Copying a file Connection of the AivX-385HDRW to the PC via the supplied USB port. You can use your AivX-385HDRW as an external hard disk. Before connecting your AivX-385HDRW to your computer, it is recommended that you stop all the functions and that you switch off the power supply before switching to the Stand-by mode. 1. 2. 3.
STEP 5 – Recording from a decoder Connection to an Audio/Video device (Satellite, TNT, cable decoder, VCR, …) Scart 1. 2. Select Video by pressing the ◄, ►buttons and press the Enter button on the remote control or the OK button on the front panel.

Press the STOP button to stop recording. If the decoder (terrestrial, satellite or cable) is connected to an AV input of your AivX-385HDRW, you can record the TV program. In this case, you must use the up and down Channel button or the remote control of the decoder to change the channel.
STEP 6 – File playback AV file PLAYBACK You can read different audio, video and photo files from the installed HARD DISK, from the USB storage device and from the network. Please first check the formatting guide which is supported before starting this section. 1. Press the Guide button on your remote control or on the front panel (HOME). 2. Select Browser by pressing the ◄, ► buttons and press the Enter button on the remote control or the OK button on the front panel. 3.
PLAYBACK of a recorded track 1. 2. Press the Guide button on your remote control or on the front panel (HOME). Select the REC list by pressing the ◄, ► buttons and press the Enter button on the remote control or the OK button on the front panel. 3. Select the requested track from the list of recorded tracks by pressing the ▲, ▼ buttons and press the Enter button to play full screen.
STEP 7 – Wireless configuration WIFI Wireless network (WIFI) 1. Connect the USB WIFI pen (included with the AivX-385HDRW) to the USB HOST port at the rear of the product. Note : The WIFI network is only available if the USB WIFI pen is connected to the unit and if your WIFI router is lighted up and operational. 2. Press the Guide button and select wireless setup (WIFI) by pressing Enter button.
3. Select « MODIFY » then press OK (you can also be connected at an existing network by selecting « CONNECTION » if an access point already exist). 4. Select « INFRASTRUCTURE » by pressing the ENTER button if you want to use a wireless router (WIFI) or if you want to be connected at a wireless access point WiFi (with a « box »). If you use a network interface card WIFI on your PC, select « PEER TO PEER » for a direct connection with a wireless computer. 5.
8. Enter your password according to your security type (WEP for example) throw the keypad of the remote control. Press « ENTER » to confirm. 9. You can choose DHCP IP (Auto) or Fix IP (manual) according to the IP status of your LAN connection 10. The settings list will appear, confirm by pressing ENTER button. 11. You will find the IP ADRESS, the subnet mask and the default gateway if the connection is OK. 12. Press ENTER, the IP ADRESS will appear with the WiFi gauge signal.
