6.9 To meet the requirements of a Smoke Control Area the
appliance MUST be operated correctly in order to minimise
the amount of smoke produced.
If these models are installed outside of a Smoke
Control Area then fitting the smoke control kit is not
necessary.
Fitting the smoke control kit should only be done
by a suitably qualified installer and must be done at
the time of installation.
6.10 MODIFICATION WILL NEED TO BE CARRIED OUT
PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF THE APPLIANCE.
To access the air control slider, carefully tip the appliance
onto its back.
6.11 To fit the Smoke Control kit:
6.12 Loosen the M8 nut and screw, see Diagram 24.

6.13 Remove the 2 M8 screws and place to one side with the
spacers, see Diagram 25.

The air slider can be removed from the appliance.
6.14 Undo the 4 nuts & screws securing the EN plate and remove,
see Diagram 26.

6.15 Position the DEFRA plate and fasten using the 4 nuts and
screws, see Diagram 27.

reverse order from 6.13.
6.17 The appliance can now be operated in a Smoke Control
area.
7. Secondary Air Control
The Secondary Air control is factory set to the optimum
setting for burning both wood and smokeless fuels. However,
if you are burning only one fuel type it can be adjusted as
shown to optimise the combustion for the chosen fuel:-
Wood Only - Position A (Open).
Smokeless Fuels Only - Position B (Closed).
WARNING: DO NOT modify the secondary air control
slider.
