OWS Field Installation
4. Perform a continuity check on
each pin to verify that the
Ethernet cable
1
has been
assembled correctly.
2. Assemble the RJ45 plug/cable.
◗ Item 1 – Shielded RJ45 plug
◗ Item 2 – Gasket seal
◗ Item 3 – Plug holder
◗ Item 4 – Coupling ring
◗ Item 5 – Seal assembly
When assembling the plug, take
care not to lose the gasket seal
(item 2)—it must be in place
when the assembly is complete.
3. Install an RJ45 plug at the other
end of the cable.
1. To comply with FCC standards for radiated spurious EMF emissions a
30 MHz to 1 GHz ferrite core must be attached to the Ethernet cable in
a double-turn configuration. A suitable ferrite core for this purpose can
be obtained from Fair-Rite Products Corporation, part number
0444167281 (round cable snap-it model).
5. Unscrew the protective cap, then
connect the Ethernet cable to the
OWS enclosure.
Turn the coupling ring clockwise
(1/4 turn) to make the
connection.
The connection is locked when
you feel and hear a click.
