Before and after operating
SEAL AND O-RING REPLACEMENT FOR RAM AND
PLUNGER PISTON
Raise the pallet jack by pumping the handle.
Remove the shaft (18). This will free the pump and handle
assembly from the pallet jack.
Remove the oil plug (46), turn the pump over and empty
the oil into a suitable container. Pump the handle until all
the oil has drained. Dispose of used hydraulic oil
according to local disposal regulations.
Pull out plunger piston (40) and/or ram piston (42).
Remove all O-rings and seals (Fig. 6).
Insert new O-ring or seal one at a time making sure to
replace with the same size that was removed.
Reassemble and fill the oil tank through the oil plug hole
with 0.26L (8.8 oz.) of new hydraulic jack oil.

Troubleshooting
Failure

The hydraulic
unit does not lift.
Air in the pump.
See the ''Bleeding the Air'' section in
the maintenance table.
Worn O-ring in ram cylinder.
Replace the O-ring. Refer to the ''Seal
and O-Ring Replacement'' section in
the maintenance table.
The forks do not
descend.
The piston rod is deformed.
Replace piston rod and cylinder.
The piston rod is rusted.
Lubricate or replace the rod. Keep the
pallet jack in the lowered position when
not in use.
Handle tube, nut, or chain is broken or
missing.
Replace the handle tube.
Once lifted, the
pallet jack lowers
by itself.
Air comes into the oil.
See the ''Bleeding the Air'' section in
the maintenance table.
Worn O-ring in ram cylinder.
Replace the O-ring. Refer to the ''Seal
and O-Ring Replacement'' section in
the maintenance table.
Pallet jack is loaded beyond capacity.
Reduce load to within capacity.
