Intended Use Strongway’s Vertical Drum Puller is ideal for vertically lifting and lowering 55-gallon drums without spilling oil or other fluids. It’s made of heavy-duty, all-steel construction. Assembly Instructions Before assembly, make sure all the parts listed in Figure 1 are included in the package. Figure 1 Assembly Instructions 1. Line up the holes of the Active Arm (#5) to the holes of the Fixed Arm (#4). 2. Insert the Pin Shaft (#2) through the holes of the Active Arm (#5) and the Fixed Arm (#4). 3. Place the Washer (#3) on the end of the Pin Shaft (#2) and insert the Cotter Pin (#1) through the Pin Shaft (#2). 4. Bend back the Cotter Pin (#1) to prevent the Pin Shaft (#2) from slipping.
1. Manually position lift pad portion of the Fixed and Active Arms onto the side of the drum puller to be lifted (Figure 2). Figure 2 2. Attach the top of the Fixed Arm (#4) to the lifting crane hook. Slowly raise the drum puller, making sure the lift pads are securely gripped under the drum rim (Figure 3). Figure 3 3. Slowly lift the drum and carefully transport to the desired location. 4. The drum puller is designed to allow placement of the drum in a steel or poly over pack drum. 5.
Maintenance Maintain the drum puller by adopting a program of conscientious repair and maintenance. It is recommended that the general condition of any tool be examined before it is used. Keep your drum puller clean and in good repair. Inspect • • Hardware should be checked for tightness. Tighten as required. Frames should be inspected for wear or damage.
