WARNING

If the information in these instructions is not

followed exactly, a re or explosion may result

- Do not store or use gasoline or other

ammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity of

this or any other appliance.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS

• Evacuate all persons from the vehicle.

• Shut o󰀨 the gas supply at the gas container

or source.

• Do not touch any electrical switch, or use any

phone or radio in the vehicle.

• Do not start the vehicle’s engine or electric

generator.

• Contact the nearest gas supplier or qualied

service technician for repairs.

• If you cannot reach a gas supplier or qualied

service technician, contact the nearest re

department.

• Do not turn on the gas supply until the gas

leak(s) has been repaired.

- Installation and service must be performed

by a qualied installer, service agency or the gas

supplier.

FREEZE WARNING

Drain or ll with RV approved antifreeze if subject

to freezing temperatures when storing for winter.

WARNING

Installation of this appliance must be made in

accordance with the written instruction provided

in this manual. No agent representative or

employee of Suburban or other person has the

authority to change, modify or waive any provision

of the instructions contained in this manual.

Improper adjustment, alteration, service,

maintenance or installation can cause serious injury

or death.

Read and follow all instruction and precautions in this

manual. Installation and service must be performed

by a qualied service agency or the gas supplier.

SAFETY WARNINGS It is imperative that the water heater tank be filled with water before operating the water heater. Operation of the water heater without water in the tank may result in damage to the tank and/or controls. This type of damage is not covered by the limited warranty. Hydrogen gas may result if you have not used this heater for two weeks or more. HYDROGEN GAS IS EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE.

H. Install chocks, one on each side of water heater, as illustrated in Figure 3. I. Attach door to frame as illustrated. J. Close the door so that the door latch protrudes through the slot in the door. Turn latch 90 degrees to fasten door. K. The module board on all models EXCEPT DEM models, is not secured to the water heater. It is to be permanently mounted by the installer. The module board must be mounted to where it is accessible for service yet out of way of children.

OPERATING SAFETY INFORMATION THERMOSTAT AND MANUAL RESET ALL "D" Models (See Figure 12) FOR YOUR SAFETY, READ BEFORE LIGHTING The model water heaters listed above are equipped with a high temperature limit as a cutoff device located behind the rubber grommet identified as “A” in Figure 15. Temperatures above 180°F will cause manual reset button to trip shutting down main burner.

D. Periodically check wiring and wire connection to be sure wiring is not damaged/ frayed and that all terminals and connections are tight and in compliance with codes (See “Making Wire Connections”). WARNING Do not place a valve between the relief valve and the tank. Do not plug the relief valve under any circumstances. DRAINING AND STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS If RV is to be stored during winter months, the water heater must be drained to prevent damage from freezing. 1.

TWO YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY SUBURBAN RECREATIONAL VEHICLE WATER HEATER TWO YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY This Suburban product is warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and maintenance for a period of two years from date of purchase whether or not actual use begins on that date. It is the responsibility of the consumer/owner to establish the warranty period. Suburban does not use warranty registration cards for its standard warranty.

A. B. C. D. Brûleur principal : Ne pas permettre au brûleur de produire une flamme jaune, car cela produirait de la suie. (Consulter les avertissements de sécurité.) Si la flamme du brûleur est jaune et présente un profil erratique, éteindre l’appareil et communiquer avec une agence de service qualifiée. Ne pas continuer à utiliser l’appareil avec une flamme de brûleur inappropriée. (Voir la figure 13 pour connaître les apparences correctes et incorrectes de la flamme du brûleur.

K. À l’exception des modèles DEM, la carte du module n’est pas fixée au chauffeeau. L’installateur doit la poser de manière permanente. La carte du module doit être posée à un endroit accessible, mais hors de la portée des enfants à des fins d’entretien. Elle doit se trouver dans un endroit où elle ne sera pas exposée à de l’humidité, à des produits nettoyants, à des vapeurs et à des liquides inflammables, etc.

AVERTISSEMENTS DE SÉCURITÉ Il est essentiel de remplir d’eau le réservoir du chauffe-eau avant de le faire fonctionner. Faire fonctionner le chauffe-eau sans eau dans le réservoir pourrait endommager le réservoir et les commandes. Ce type de dommages n’est pas couvert par la garantie limitée. Si vous n’avez pas utilisé ce chauffe-eau pendant deux semaines ou plus, de l’hydrogène gazeux pourrait être généré. L’HYDROGÈNE GAZEUX EST EXTRÊMEMENT INFLAMMABLE.
