IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Before the refrigerator is used, it must be properly positioned and installed as described in this manual, so read the manual carefully. To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock or injury when using the refrigerator, follow basic precautions, including the following: • • • • • • • • • • • Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet, do not remove grounding prong, do not use an adapter, and do not use an extension cord.
• DANGER! Risk of child entrapment! Child entrapment and suffocation are not problems of the past. Junked or abandoned refrigerators are still dangerous, even if they will "just sit in the garage a few days." Before you throw away your old refrigerator: Take off the doors. Leave the shelves in place so that children may not easily climb inside. Never allow children to operate, play with, or crawl inside the refrigerator.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Before Using Your Refrigerator • • • Remove the exterior and interior packing. CAUTION: After unpacking you MUST allow this appliance to stand upright for at least 2 hours to allow the lubricant and refrigerant to drain back into the compressor and stabilize. Failure to do so may adversely affect performance and the lifetime of this unit. Clean the interior surface with lukewarm water using a soft cloth.
Reversing the Door Swing of Your Appliance This refrigerator has the capability of the door opening from either the left or right side. The unit is delivered to you with the door opening from the left side. Should you desire to reverse the opening direction, you can refer to the diagram below. CARE AND MAINTENANCE Defrosting Your Refrigerator • Defrost the refrigerator when the frost accumulated on the evaporator is about 5mm (1/5 inch) thick. Set the thermostat dial to “OFF” position. Remove frozen or perishable foods. Defrosting usually takes a few hours. After defrosting, return the thermostat dial to the desired position. To defrost quickly remove all foods from the refrigerator and leave the door open. Never use a knife or other metal instrument to scrape ice/frost from the liner.
PROBLEMS WITH YOUR REFRIGERATOR You can solve many common refrigerator problems easily, saving you the cost of a possible service call. Try the suggestions below to see if you can solve the problem before calling for service. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE Refrigerator does not operate. Not plugged in. Circuit breaker has tripped or a fuse has blown. The refrigerator temperature control is set at "OFF". Turns on and off frequently. The room temperature is warmer than normal.
LIMITED WARRANTY ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY Within the 48 contiguous United States, for one year from the date of purchase, when this appliance is operated and maintained according to instructions attached to or furnished with the product, warrantor will pay for factory-specified parts and repair labor to correct defects in materials or workmanship. Service must be provided by a designated service company. Outside the 48 states, all parts are warranted for one year from manufacturing defects.

Inversion de l’ouverture de la porte Ce réfrigérateur a la capacité de l'ouverture de la porte du côté gauche ou droit. L'appareil est livré avec l'ouverture de la porte du côté gauche. Si vous désirez d'inverser le sens d'ouverture, vous pouvez vous référer au schéma ci-dessous. Si vous avez un problème, appelez le Service à la clientèle de SUMMIT au 1-800-932-4267.
SOINS ET ENTRETIEN Dégivrage de votre réfrigérateur • Dégivrer le réfrigérateur lorsque le givre accumulé sur l'évaporateur est d'environ 5 mm (1/5 po) d'épaisseur. Réglez le thermostat à la position OFF (Arrêt). Retirez les aliments congelés ou périssables. Dégivrage prend généralement quelques heures. Après décongélation, remettre le cadran du thermostat à la position désirée. Pour dégivrer rapidement enlever tous les aliments du réfrigérateur et laisser la porte ouverte.
DÉPANNAGE Vous pouvez résoudre de nombreux problèmes communs de réfrigérateur facilement, vous épargnant le coût d'un appel de service possible. Essayez les suggestions ci-dessous pour voir si vous pouvez résoudre le problème avant d'appeler le service. PROBLÈME CAUSE POSSIBLE Le réfrigérateur ne fonctionne pas. Non branché. Le disjoncteur a déclenché ou un fusible a sauté. Le contrôle de la température du réfrigérateur est fixé à OFF. Allume et éteint souvent.
