INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Before Using your Appliance • • • Remove the exterior and interior packing and leave doors open for a while to air out the unit. This appliance requires a standard 115/120 Volt AC ~ 60Hz three-prong grounded electrical outlet. Have the wall outlet and circuit checked by a qualified electrician to make sure the outlet is properly grounded. When a standard 2-prong wall outlet is encountered, it is your responsibility and obligation to have it replaced with a properly grounded 3-prong wall outlet. To prevent accidental injury, the cord should be secured behind the appliance and not left exposed or dangling.
OPERATING YOUR APPLIANCE It is recommended you install the appliance in a place where the ambient temperature is between 65ºF and 90ºF (18Cº to 32ºC). If the ambient temperature is above or below the recommended temperatures, the performance of the unit may be affected. For example, placing your unit in extremely cold or hot conditions may cause interior temperatures to fluctuate. When the unit is first turned on, allow it to operate for about an hour to cool the interior before placing items inside.
Interior Light The unit is equipped with an interior light that can be turned on and off by pressing the key. Placing Items in the Appliance The Cold Zone® refrigerator employs a system of forced circulation of cold air. If this circulation is obstructed, items will not be adequately refrigerated. Take note of the following points: • Do not let items obstruct the cold air inlet and suction outlet. • Place items so that they do not protrude beyond the shelves.
Energy-Saving Tips • • • Be sure the unit is installed in a well-ventilated area. Never cover air vents. The appliance should be located in the coolest area of the room, away from heat-producing appliances and out of direct sunlight. To minimize the escape of cold air, open and close the doors quickly, and do not keep the doors open any longer than necessary.
