3. To perform a vertical cut, start trimming at the bottom and
sweep up for even cutting. Swing the blades in an arc
towards the outsides of the hedge so that the cuttings are
swept on the ground (Fig. 16).
4. To use the pole hedge trimmer for trimming tall, hard-to-
read hedges or shrubs, hold the trimmer at the position
shown below (Fig. 17). Pivot the power head to several
dierent positions to shape or sculpt shrubs or hedges.
5. To use pole hedge trimmer for trimming the bottoms and
sides of hedges and shrubs, hold the pole trimmer at the
position shown below (Fig. 18).
6. To use pole hedge trimmer for trimming low-lying foliage
or ground cover, hold the pole hedge trimmer at the
position as shown below (Fig. 19).
mCAUTION! Do not use the pole hedge trimmer for
cutting stems greater than 0.70" (1.8 cm) (or approximately
3/4 in. thick).
Use the pole hedge trimmer only for cutting normal shrubbery
found around houses and buildings.
Do not force the pole hedge trimmer through dense growth.
A slight back and forth sawing action may ease the cutting of
larger, more dense growth. If the pole hedge trimmer begins to
slow down, reduce the rate of speed at which you are trying to
cut. If the pole hedge trimmer becomes jammed, immediately
turn the trimmer o. Disconnect the plug from the power
source and clear the jammed debris from the cutter blades.
