4. First-aid Measures
Glass cuts: Normal first-aid procedures. Seek medical attention as
required.
Contact Skin: Wash thoroughly with soap and water. Seek medical
attention if irritation occurs.
Contact Eyes: Wash eyes with copious amount of water for a
minimum of 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.
5. Fire-Fighting Measures
Flammability: Non-Combustible
Fire Fighting materials; Use agents suitable for extinguishing
surrounding fire.
Special Firefighting procedures: Use self-contained breathing
apparatus to prevent inhalation of dust or fumes that may be
generated from broken lamps during firefighting activities. Toxic
fumes may be generated when lamps are exposed to high
temperatures.
6. Accidental Release Measures
Information regarding the clean-up of broken lamps can be found
at www.epa.gov/cfl.
7. Handling and Storage
Fluorescent lamps should be stored in their original packaging
whenever possible.
8. Exposure Controls/Personal Protection
No personal protection is required as long as the lamps remain
intact and are not broken.
