thickrigidinsulationintoa6"(50mm)by6"
(50mm)square.Agroove3/6"(5mm)wideby
3/6"(5mm)deepby-3/4"(45mm)longshould
becutintotheinsulationtoaccommodatethe
sensor.Placethesensorinthegrooveand
sandwichthesensorbetweentheinsulationand
thesubfloor.Useasuitablefasteningmethodto
affixtheinsulationtothesubfloor.


IfaFloorSensor079istobeinstalledintoanexistingtilefloorwithsufficientlylarge
groutlines,thesensorandwirecanbeinstalledinoneofthegroutlinesbetweenthe
tiles.Selectalowtrafficareaofthefloorthatis
midwaybetweentheheatingelementsforthe
sensorlocation.Ensurethatthesensorislocated
insuchapositionthattheattachedwireisable
toreachtoasuitablejunctionlocation.Splices
withinthegroutshouldbeavoidedtoensure
troublefreeoperation.Removetheappropriate
groutlineandplacethesensorandwireinthe
floor.Re-groutthearea.





TheFloorSensor079issuppliedwith0'(3m)ofcable.Ifalongerlengthis
required,24AWGorlargerwirecanbesplicedontothetwowiresfromthesensor.
Thesplicesshouldbeproperlysolderedandprotectedinanaccessiblejunction
box.Followthesensortestinginstructionsgiveninthisbrochureandthenconnect
thewirestothecontrol.

Donotrunsensorwiresparalleltotelephoneorpowercables.Ifthesensorwires
arelocatedinanareawithstrongsourcesofelectromagneticinterference,shielded
cableortwistedpairshouldbeusedorthewirescanberuninagroundedmetal
conduit.Ifusingshieldedcable,theshieldwireshouldbeconnectedtotheCom
terminalonthecontrolandnottoearthground.
