TheAUhaseightopticalports,designatedbyeightsilk-screenedimages: “ AU1 ” , “ AU2 ” ,“OP1/AU ” ,“OP2 ” ,“OP3 ” ,
“OP4 ” ,“OP5”and“OP6 ” .Theports“OP1~OP6”allhavethesamefunctionality,providingconnectionstolowerlevelEUs
orRUs.InserttheopticalmoduleintoanyoneoftheOP1～OP6ports,theninsertthetailoftheopticalfibreintothe
opticalmoduleandconnecttheotherendtothelowerEUorRU.AftertheAUandEU/RUareconnectedandpowered
on,theopticalinterfaceindicatorLEDwillturngreen,whichindicatesthatthedevicesaresynchronized.Iftheoptical
indicatorLEDdoesnotturngreen,checkwhethertheconnectiondirectionoftheopticalfibreiscorrectandwhetherthe
opticalmoduleisinsertedtightly.
The “ AU1”and “ AU2”opticalportsareforconnectingtotheslaveAU.
WhenconnectingtotheslaveAU,firstaccesstheslaveAUindependently(seeSection2.2forinstructionsonhowto
accesstheWebOMTfortheSlaveAU).EnsurethestatusoftheAUis“SlaveAU”andthenconnecttheopticalfibre.
Note: TheconnectionbetweentheMasterAUandtheSlaveAUcanonlybefromtheOP1/AUportontheSlaveAU
totheAU1(orAU2)portontheMasterAU;otheropticalportsareinvalidforMaster-SlaveAUconnections.
