Event Log Panel
The lower part of the MEGARAID STORAGE MANAGER window displays the system event
log entries. New event log entries appear during the session. Each entry has a
timestamp and date, an error level indicating the severity of the event, and a brief
description of the event.
Menu Bar
This section contains brief descriptions of the main selections from the MEGARAID
S
TORAGE MANAGER menu bar.
File Menu
The FILE menu has an EXIT option for exiting from the MEGARAID STORAGE MANAGER
software. It also has a R
ESCAN option for updating the display in the MEGARAID
S
TORAGE MANAGER window. (RESCAN is seldom required; the display normally updates
automatically.)
Operations Menu
The OPERATIONS menu is available when a controller, physical drive, or logical drive is
selected in the M
EGARAID STORAGE MANAGER window. Options available in this menu
include: C
REATE VIRTURAL DRIVE, CONFIGURATION and SCAN FOR FOREIGN
C
ONFIGURATION. These options are also sometimes available if you right-click on an item
in the P
HYSICAL/LOGICAL VIEW panels.
The CREATE VIRTURAL DRIVE option allows you to create a virtual drive for your
configuration. See Section 9-3: "Creating a New Storage Configuration" on page 9-5 for
more details.
The C
ONFIGURATION option contains a submenu that includes options for Adding, Saving
or Clearing a configuration file of your configuration. See Section 9-6: "Controller
Configuration Files" on page 9-13 for more details.
The S
CAN FOR FOREIGN CONFIGURATION option will scan your system for foreign
configurations you may wish to use.
Group Operations Menu
The GROUP OPERATIONS menu contains the SHOW PROGRESS menu option for displaying
progress on your drive configurations.
Tools Menu
The TOOLS menu contains the CONFIGURE submenu with the CONFIGURE ALERTS menu
option. See Section 9-8: "Configuring Alerts" on page 9-16 for more details.
Log Menu
The LOG menu includes the following options for the log in the EVENT LOG panel: SAVE
L
OG, SAVE LOG TEST, VIEW SAVED LOG and CLEAR LOG.
