Creating a Virtual Drive Using the Advanced Method
If you choose the Advanced method for creating a virtual drive, then the next screen that
appears is the C
REATE DRIVE GROUP–DRIVE GROUP SETTINGS screen (Figure 9-5)
For the rest of the Advanced configuration, use the below procedure.
1. In the C
REATE DRIVE GROUP–DRIVE GROUP SETTINGS screen set the following
parameters:
• RAID Level: Use this setting to set your RAID level to either RAID level 0, 1 or 10.
• Drive Security Method: Select the drive security method you wish to use in your
configuration.
• Select Unconfigured Drives/Drive Groups Panes: Select the unconfigured drives
you wish to use for your virtual drive configuration, and use the A
DD button to move
the unconfigured drive(s) to D
RIVE GROUPS pane. You can also use the REMOVE
button to remove them from the D
RIVE GROUPS pane. When finished selecting your
drives, press the C
REATE DRIVE GROUP button to create your drive group.
When you have set your all your parameters in this screen, press the NEXT button to
continue.
