Hard Disk Drives
The SBI-7128R-C6/C6N blade unit accommodates up to six 2.5" Hot-swap HDD/SSD/

hot-swapped and removed or replaced without powering down the blade unit they reside
in. The six drives can be used to set up a RAID 0, 1 and 5 array. These drives use a
yellow color for the Blade HDD active LED. See Chapter 5: "RAID Setup Procedure" on
page 5-1 for further details on RAID Setup. See "NVMe" on page 1-3 for details on
NVMe drives.
The SBI-7128R-C6/C6N blade module also has two SuperDOM ports for attaching
SuperDOM drives to the serverboard. See http://www.supermicro.com/products/nfo/
satadom.cfm for details on SuperDOM ports. Note that these ports ONLY support
SuperDOM devices and DO NOT support SATADOM devices.
WARNING: To maintain proper airflow, both hard drive bays must have drive carriers
inserted during operation whether or not a drive is installed in the tray.
