DCU Streamer Prefetcher
For UP platforms, leave this option Enabled. For DP/MP servers,
this option may be used to tune performance to the specific
application. Options are Enabled or Disabled.
DCU IP Prefetcher
This setting Enables or Disables prefetch of the next L1 line based
upon sequential load history.
Direct Cache Access (DCA)
Use this setting to enable Direct Cache Access. Options include
Disable, Enable or Auto.
X2APIC Use this setting to Enable or Disable extended APIC support.
AES-NI Use this setting to Enable or Disable AES-NI support.
Intel® Virtualization Technology
Select Enabled to use this Virtualization Technology feature to allow
one platform to run multiple operating systems and applications in
independent partitions, creating multiple “virtual” systems in one
physical computer system. The options are Enabled and Disabled.
Please refer to the Intel website for further detailed information.
NOTE: A full reset of the system is required when you change this
setting.
Advanced Power Management
Configuration
Power management options and information is displayed on this
submenu. In addition to the options in this submenu, information is
displayed for Factory Long Duration Power Limit, Factory Long
Duration Maintained and Recommended Short Duration Power.
Power Technology
This option enables power managment features. Options include
Disable, Energy Efficient and Custom. Selecting “Custom” allows
you to either Enable or Disable the following sub-menus and their
settings:
CPU P State Control
CPU C State Control
CPU T State Control
CPU P State Control This sub-menu allows you to configure CPU P State Control settings.
EIST (P-States)
When this setting is Enabled, the OS sets CPU frequency according
to the load. When Disabled, the CPU frequency is set at maximum
non-turbo.
Turbo Mode
Turbo mode allows a CPU logical processor to execute a higher
frequency when enough power is available to not exceed CPU
defined limits. Options include Enabled and Disabled.
P-state Coordination
Use this setting to configure P-state coordination. Options include
HW_ALL, SW_ALL and SW_ANY. HW_ALL (hardware) coordination
is recommended over SW_ALL and SW_ANY (software
coordination).
CPU C State Control This sub-menu allows you to configure CPU C State Control settings.
Package C State Limit
Use this setting to specify the Package C State Limit. Options include
C0/C1 State, C2 State, C6 (non-retention) State, C6 (Retention)
State, No Limit.
CPU C3 Report
This setting allows you to Disable or Enable the CPU C3 (ACPI C2)
report to the OS. It is recommended that this setting be disabled.
