6-4 Drive Bay Installation/Removal
Accessing the Drive Bays
SAS/SATA Drives: Because of their hotswap capability, you do not need to access
the inside of the chassis or power down the system to install or replace SAS or
SATA drives. Proceed to the next step for instructions.
Note: You must use standard 3.5" high, SAS/SATA drives in the SuperServer 6014P-
32/6014P-32R.
DVD/CD-ROM/Floppy Disk Drives: For installing/removing a DVD/CD-ROM or
oppy disk drive, you will need to gain access to the inside of the system by remov-
ing the top cover of the chassis. Proceed to the "DVD/CD-ROM and Floppy Drive
Installation" section later in this chapter for instructions.
Note: Only "slim" DVD/CD-ROM and fl oppy drive will fi t into the 6014P-32/6014P-
32R.
