XIDE/SATA/Floppy Con guration
When this submenu is selected, the AMI BIOS automatically detects the presence
of the IDE devices and displays the following items:
SATA#1 Con guration
Select Compatible to set SATA#1 to legacy compatibility mode. Select Enhanced
to set SATA#1 to native SATA mode. The options are Disabled, Compatible and
Enhanced.
Con gure SATA#1 as
This feature allows the user to select the drive type for SATA#1. Select RAID
(Intel) to enable Intel's SATA RAID rmware to con gure Intel's SATA RAID
settings. Select RAID (Adaptec) to enable Adaptec's SATA RAID rmware to
con gure Adaptec's SATA RAID settings. Select AHCI to enable SATA Advanced
Host Interface. (Take caution when using this function. This feature is for ad-
vanced programmers only.) The options are IDE, RAID (Intel), RAID (Adaptec)
and AHCI.
SATA#2 Con guration
Select Enhanced to set SATA#2 to native SATA mode. The options are Disabled,
and Enhanced.
IDE Detect Timeout (sec)
Use this feature to set the time-out value for the BIOS to detect the ATA and ATAPI
devices installed in the system. The options are 0 (sec), 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and
35.
Primary IDE Master/Slave, Secondary IDE Master/Slave, Third IDE Master,
and Fourth IDE Master
These settings allow the user to set the parameters of the IDE slots as speci ed.
Press <Enter> to activate the following submenu items. Set the correct con gura-
tions accordingly.
Type
This feature allows the user to select the type of device connected to the slot.
Select Auto to allow the BIOS to automatically select the device type as it is
detected on the slot. Select CD/DVD to con gure the slot for CD/DVD devices.
Select ARMD to use this slot for removable devices. The options are Not In-
stalled, Auto, CD/DVD and ARMD.
