C. Deck Assembly

1. Position two 2" x 4" x 5-1/2" blocks against the side

of the 2" x 4" x 78" ladder support and the 4' x 4"

frame post as indicated in Fig. 10. Attach the 2" x 4" x

5-1/2" block to the support and post using four 10D

galvanized nails.

NOTE: The top s of the 2" x 4" x 5-

1/2" boards should be flush with the top of the

corresponding 2" x 6" x 57" deck support.

2. Position the 2" x 4" x 37" board to the frame as

indicated in Fig. 10. The bottom of the 2" x 4" x 37"

should be flush with the bottom of the corresponding

deck supports. Attach by driving two 10D nails

through the 2" x 4" x 37" rail support into the inside

2" x 6" x 57" deck support. Secure by driving three

evenly spaced 16D galvanized nails through the

outside 2' x 6" x 57" deck support into the 2" x 4" x

37" rail support.

3. Attach the remaining 2" x 4" x 5-1/2" block to the rail

support using four 10D galvanized nails. NOTE: The

top of the 2" x 4" x 5-1/2" board should be flush with

the top of the corresponding 2" x 6" x 57" deck support.

4. Position the 2" x 6" x 23-1/4" and 2" x 6" x

25-1/4" boards to the frame as indicated in Fig. 10.

The boards should be flush with the outside edge of

th 2" x 6" deck support. Attach using two 16D

galvanized nails at each joint.

5. Position 2" x 4" x 50" board to the frame so it is flush

with the outside edge of th 4" x 4" corner posts

(Fig.11). Attach using two 16D galvanized nails at

each joint.

6. Position the 2" x 4" x 27-1/2" board to the frame as

indicated in Fig. 11. The board should be positioned

square to the corresponding 2" x 4" x 5-1/2" supports.

Attach using two 16D galvanized nails at each end of

the 2" x 4" x 27-1/2" board.

7. Place the 2" x 6" x 50" deck board so it is centered on

the 4" x 4" center post as shown in Fig. 12. Secure

using two 16D nails per joint (six nails per board).

8. Evenly space seven 2" x 6" x 55" boards on the deck

supports as indicated in Fig. 12. Attach the deck

boards to the supports using two 16D galvanized

nails per joint (six nails per board).
