•  NEVERfillgastankwhiletheengineishotorrunning.Allowtheenginetocoolbeforerefueling.
•  Thisunitisequippedwithaninternalcombustionengineandshouldnotbeusedonornearany
unimprovedforest-covered,brush-coveredorgrass-coveredlandunlesstheengine’sexhaustsystemis
equippedwithasparkarrestermeetingapplicablelocalorstatelaws(ifany).Ifasparkarresterisusedit
shouldbemaintainedineffectiveworkingorderbytheoperator.

•  ONLYuseyourhandstooperatethecontrollever.NEVERusefoot,knee,ropeoranyextensiondevice.
•  SplitONLYonelogatatime.NEVERattempttosplittwologsontopofeachother.
•  NEVERplacehandsorfeetbetweenlogandsplittingwedgeorbetweenlogandramduringforwardor
reversestroke.ALWAYSkeepfingersclearofsplitsthatopeninlogduringsplittingoperation.
•  DONOTstraddleorreachacrossthesplittingareawhileoperatingthesplitter.
•  DONOTstepoversplitterwhentheengineisrunning.Youmaytriporaccidentallyactivatethesplitting
wedge.Walkaroundtogettotheotherside.
•  NEVERattempttoloadsplitterwhilesplittingwedgeisinmotion.Whenloadinglogsplitter,placehands
onthesidesofthelog,nottheends.
•  NEVERattempttosplitwoodsacrossthegrain.Woodmayburstorflyoutofyoursplitterandresultin
seriousinjury.
•  NEVERleaveyoursplitterunattendedwiththeenginerunning.Shutofftheengineifyouareleaving
yoursplitter,evenforashortperiodoftime.Someonecouldaccidentallyactivatetheramandbeinjured.
•  Bothendsofthelogshouldbecutassquarelyaspossibletopreventthelogfromslidingoutofthesplitter
duringoperation.Loglengthshouldbekeptto24”orless.
•  NEVERoperateyoursplitterwhileitisattachedtothetowvehicle.
•  BEFOREtowing,becertainthatthesplitterissecurelyattachedtothetowingvehicleandthatthesupport
leg,beamandcylinderaresecuredinthererespectivetowingpositions.
•  NEVERallowpersonstorideonsplitter.DONOTcarryanycargoorwoodonyoursplitter.Itmayfall
offandcauseanaccident.
•  DONOTloosenorremoveanyhydraulicfitting,lineorreservoircapwhileyoursplitterorengineis
running.
•  Fluidescapingfromaverysmallholecanalmostbeinvisible.DONOTcheckforleakswithyourhand.
Seemaintenancesectionforinstructions.IFinjuredbyescapingfluid,seeadoctoratonce.Serious
infectionorreactioncandevelopifpropermedicaltreatmentisnotadministeredimmediately.
•  DONOToperateyoursplitterinpoormechanicalconditionorwhenitisneedofrepair.
•  ALWAYSdisconnectthesparkplugwireandplacethewirewhereitcannotcontactthesparkplug,to
preventaccidentalstartingtheenginewhensettingup,transporting,adjustingorrepairing.
