If u nit is to be stored for longer than 30
days, prepare as directed below :
•
D rain fuel outside into an approved
container
• Start engine and run un til unit is
com pletely ou t of fuel. R em oving fuel
prevents gu m dep osits from fo rm ing
inside carburetor. G u m depo sits can
cause th e engin e to m alfunction.
• Let engine cool.
SEA SO N A L M A IN T E N A N C E
• R eplace the spark plug.
• C lean or replace the air filter and fuel .
•
C hange oil.
• C heck belts, tires, hardw are, etc. for w ear
and dam age. R epair as necessary.
N O T E : N ew spark plug, clean air filter, and
clean fuel filter insure proper air-fuel m ixture
and h elp the en gine p erform better and last
longer.
B E FO R E E A C H U SE
•
C heck and fill engine oil on a level
surface. If oil appears black or so iled,
change im m ediately.
• C heck cond ition o f filters, spark plug,
tires, etc. C lean or replace if necessary.
•
C heck for loose hardw are and tighten as
needed .

•
Stop engin e and rem ov e spark plug w ire.
• T he belt ten sion is adjusted by turning the
cable trun nion o n the idler cable located
under the con trol p anel.
•
Pull hairpin and rem ove w asher from
cab le trunnion.
• Pull tru nnion out of the hole in the
handle.
•
Tu rn trunn ion tow ard op erator to
increase belt tension.
• Insert the trun nion into the handle.
•
R eplace w asher an d h airpin.
•
R econnect spark plug w ire.
B E L T R E PLA C E M E N T
•
Stop engine and rem ov e w ire from spark
plug.
• R em ove idler pulley (#T 30 V )
•
R em ove old belt.
•
Inst
all new belt. S tart at the engine pu lley
and w ork the belt aro und the drive p ulley
and onto th e backside of the idler pulley.
•
R eplace idler pulley. M ak e sure belt guide
does not m ake contact w ith belt.
•
R econnect the spark plug w ire.
