4 Preliminary Information
This chapter provides basic information on using the operating instruction
manual and the telephone.

Remove the handset from the base station

NAME Depicts text in the display

a On: Connection to the base station exists
Flashing: No connection to the base station
k On: Indicates the battery capacity
Flashes: While handset is in the base station:
Batteries are being charged
n On: Batteries need to be charged
Flashing: Batteries must be charged immediately
c On: A call is in progress
Flashing: A call has been received
j The ringing tone has been switched off
f On: An alarm time has been set
Flashing: The set alarm time has been reached
The key lock function is switched on
e On: The answering machine is switched on
Flashing: New messages have been recorded
Messages recorded in the mailbox set up by your
telephone network provider
On: Internal call is in progress
Flashing: Internal call has been received
s While the call list is being displayed: New call
While playing messages from TAM: New message
