How to Operate the Telephone Navigating in the menu All the functions can be accessed via the various menus. Refer to the menu structure to find how to access the respective functions.
Telephoning 5 Telephoning Taking a call , or Take the call Ending a call or End the call Making a call Enter the phone number (max. 24 digits) Delete the last digit if incorrect Dial the phone number It is also possible to press the Call button first to obtain the dialling tone. The digits in the phone number then entered are dialled immediately. It is not possible to correct wrong digits individually using this dialling procedure.

Telephoning Talk time display The duration of a call is displayed in hours, minutes and seconds during the call. Handsfree 31 Use this function to listen to the caller via the loudspeaker. Answering Machine 6 Answering Machine All the functions provided on the answering machine can be operated via the handset. Some functions can also be controlled directly on the base station. The answering machine is equipped with a vocal operator guidance. Observe the instructions and information provided. Setting the language 33 The language spoken by the answering machine’s voice output can be set to French or German.
Answering Machine Delay before taking a call You can select between Immediately", 10", 20" and 30" seconds or the Toll-saver" setting for pre−remote access. The toll−saving, pre−remote access feature can be used to check whether new messages have been recorded on your answering machine from a distant telephone. If new messages have been recorded on your answering machine, your call is taken after 10 seconds. If no messages have been recorded, the call is taken after 30 seconds.
Answering Machine Selecting the answering mode The answering machine is provided with one, pre−recorded outgoing message and OGM 1 and OGM 2 which can be replaced by outgoing messages of your own. When the answering machine’s memory is full, an answer only announcement after which no message can be left is automatically played. Answering Machine Deleting your own outgoing message and reverting to the default message After deleting your own outgoing message, the pre−recorded message is automatically reactivated.

However, new messages/memos not yet played are retained. # Initiate the deleting process # Delete the messages/memos or Cancel the deleting process Remote access 37 You can call your answering machine from another telephone to play any new messages or execute other functions. A condition for this is that you use a telephone which implements tone dialling.
Answering Machine Key function assignment for remote access Remote access is automatically cancelled if there is no input within 60 seconds. The functions assigned to the buttons are dependent on the mode currently activated. The following table provides an overview of the respective functions assigned to the individual buttons.
