Installation and Connection
Pay attention to the information in chapter “Preparations for
Installation”!
• Think about the location of the LED light e.g. in the room ceiling. Plan the installa-
tion location carefully, if you want to install more than one LED light (lighting the
entrance area or the like, for instance).
• Mark the opening required for installation (for diameter, see section “Technical
Data”). For example, use a suitable drill to drill the mounting hole in the ceiling panel.
To this end, you should drill on the visible side of the ceiling panel in order to avoid
tearing out the edge of the hole.
Our tip:
When installing the light in a ceiling panel, check the correct hole diameter on
the part for safety reasons. Nothing is more frustrating than drilling a hole big-
ger than necessary in an expensive and high-quality ceiling panel.
• The light features a plug that is protected against reverse polarity. A short connect-
ing cable with the corresponding counter-part for the plug of the light is enclosed in
the package. This facilitates the connection.
Connect the two cables of the connecting cable to a suitable LED driver. The red
cable must be connected to the positive pole (+), the black cable to the negative
pole (-).
Use connection terminals, if required, to avoid short circuits.
Caution!
The LED light can be operated only with a constant current source (also called
LED driver). Refer to chapter “Technical Data”.
Never use a commercially available halogen transformer or power supply unit,
this will destroy the LED light, loss of guarantee!
Lights operated with constant current should never be connected in parallel.
In case of doubt, consult a specialist.
• Connect the plug on the LED light's cable to the counter-part on the connection
cable.
Afterwards, insert the LED light in the prepared installation hole.
To this end, bend the retaining brackets upwards and plug them, for example
through the mounting hole in the ceiling panel.
Slide in the LED light until it is well-fi tted in the hole; in the process, tilt the brackets
downwards and fi x the light in the installation hole.
Make sure the connection cables are not squeezed.
• Turn on the power supply to the LED driver (constant power supply) and check
whether the LED light is functioning properly.
If the light does not light up, then turn off the power supply immediately.
After this, check the connections to the light (correct polarity, red cable = plus/+,
black cable = minus/-).
• If you wish to adjust the light beam of the lamp to a different direction, touch the
light very carefully, risk of burns! Do not touch the inside of the light (refl ector/LED)!
Maintenance and Care
• The light does not require maintenance. The recessed LED light has a long service life
and cannot be replaced.
• Prior to cleaning the light, switch the light off and disconnect the associated LED
driver from the mains voltage (switch off at the light switch). After that, allow suf-
fi cient time for the lamp to cool down.
• The exterior of the light should only be wiped with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Do not use
aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions that could damage the housing
(discolouring) or impair operation.
Do not press too hard on the housing, as scratches might appear.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, soft brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Disposal
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statu-
tory regulations.
