e) “SD/USB formatting” function
SDmemorycardsandUSBsticksareusuallyformattedwiththeFAT/FAT32leformatandcanbeinserteddirectly
into the monitor/DVR.
Conventional hard disks are usually empty/unformatted or partitioned/formatted by a computer (Windows computers
usuallyusetheNTFSlesystem).Theseharddiskscannotbeusedwiththemonitor/DVR.
Youcanusethemonitor/DVRtoformatconnectedstoragedevicesusingtheFAT32lesystem.
Warning!
Formatting the storage device will delete all stored data!
• Use the touchscreen (or the arrow buttons (“ ” and “ ”) and the “ ” button (28) on the IR remote control) to
select the storage device that you want to format.
• After you have selected the storage device using the touchscreen or the “ ” button (28) on the IR remote control,
a warning message will be displayed.
• Use the touchscreen (or the arrow buttons (“ ” and “ ”) and the “ ” button (28) on the IR remote control) to
conrmwhetheryouwishtoformatthestoragedevice.
 Theformattingprocesswillstartwhenyouselectconrm.Dependingonthesizeofthestoragedevice,this
may take some time to complete.
USB storage devices with a capacity of more than 2 TB will be separated into individual partitions of no
more than 2 TB.
Touch the “ ” symbol on the touchscreen, or press the “ ” button (31) on the IR remote control to
cancel the current setting/selection and go back to the previous display.
f) “Storage for Recording” function
Use this function to select which storage device to use to store video recordings. The monitor/DVR has an SD card
slot and a USB port for a USB stick or a USB hard drive.
When you select this function, a list of possible storage devices will be displayed together with their size, allocation,
free storage space and approximate recording time.
Use the touchscreen (or the arrow buttons (“ ” and “ ”) and the “ ” button (28) on the IR remote control) to select
the desired storage device.
USB storage devices with a capacity of more than 2 TB will be separated into individual partitions of no
more than 2 TB before they are formatted.
The individual partitions can be used separately for recording video.
Touch the “ ” symbol on the touchscreen, or press the “ ” button (31) on the IR remote control to
go back to the previous display.
