b) “Motion Detection” function
When this function is enabled, the monitor/DVR only starts a recording when movement is detected. There are three
sensitivity settings for motion detection.
Unlike a PIR sensor that detects movement by monitoring changes in temperature, the camera detects
movement by detecting changes in the image content.
• When you select this option, the display will show the sensitivity settings for each wireless camera. It also indicates
whether motion detection is enabled.
• Use the touchscreen or the arrow buttons (“ ” or “ ”) and the “ ” button (28) on the IR remote control to select
the desired wireless camera.
• Use the touchscreen (or the arrow buttons (“ ”, “ ”, “ ” and “ ” and the “ ” button (28) on the IR remote
controltocongurethefollowingsettings:
- Sensitivity settings for motion detection (3 different settings, a higher sensitivity means that less movement is
required to trigger a video recording)
- Enable/disable motion detection (when enabled, the monitor/DVR will display the camera image when the image
content changes, e.g. when someone walks in front of the camera)
- Congurethelengthofarecordingwhenmovementisdetected
- Select the area of the image used for motion detection
You can only select an area of the image when a wireless camera is connected to the corresponding chan-
nel.
After selecting this option, use the touchscreen (or the “ ”
button (28)) on the IR remote control to display the camera
image (in 8 x 6 sections, see right-hand image).
Use the touchscreen (or the arrow keys (“ ”, “ ”, “ ” or
“ ”) and the “ ” button (28) on the IR remote control) to
select the area used for motion detection.
“V” will appear on the LC display when motion detection is
enabled.
To save the settings, touch the “ ” symbol on the touch-
screen, or press the “ ” button (31) on the IR remote control.
Touch the “ ” symbol on the touchscreen, or press the “ ” button (31) on the IR remote control to
go back to the previous display.
Important:
• In this mode, the monitor/DVR will only record video when motion detection is enabled (see above).
• Do not set the sensitivity too high, as very small movements (e.g. foliage on a tree) may trigger a video recording.
Try to exclude these parts of the image from the detection range (see above).
