If the bulb in the wall light does not light up, switch off the mains voltage im-
mediately (take out fuse or switch off at the circuit breaker, switch off RCCB
switch).
Thereafter, check the connections of the wall lamp.
In case of doubt, contact a professional (e.g. an electrician)!
Inserting/Replacing the Bulb
Attention, risk of burns!
Before you replace a faulty bulb, switch off the lamp and wait until the faulty
bulb and the lamp have cooled down suf ciently.
Caution!
Never replace or insert a light bulb during precipitation but only in dry weather.
Switch off the mains voltage to the wall lamp at all costs, unless it is already discon-
nected.
Turn the light head (the transparent diffuser) counter-clockwise, to the left, and re-
move it.
To remove the faulty bulb, just turn it slightly counter-clockwise, to the left; it can
then be removed from the lamp socket.
Insert a new GX53 energy-saving light bulb (max. 11 W) and lock it in place by a clock-
wise turn to the right.
The operation of the wall lamp is only allowed, when a light bulb is installed
in both sockets.
Replace the light head (the transparent diffuser) and tighten it by turning it clock-
wise.
Switch on the wall light's power supply and check that the new bulb is working after
its replacement/insertion.
Maintenance and Care
The wall light is maintenance-free, except for the occasional replacement of the light
bulb. Repair or maintenance work must be carried out by a specialist.
Switch off the wall lamp or disconnect it from the mains before cleaning. After that,
allow suf cient time for the wall light to cool down.
The exterior of the wall lamp should only be wiped with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Do
not use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions that could damage the
housing (discolouring) or impair operation.
Do not press too hard on the housing, as scratches might appear.
Disposal
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statu-
tory regulations.

Preparations for Installation
The wall lamp may only be installed by a quali ed technician who is fa-
miliar with the relevant regulations (e.g. VDE)!
Improper work carried out at the mains voltage endangers not only your
life but also the life of others!
If you do not have the expertise required for the installation, do not in-
stall it yourself but entrust the work to a quali ed electrician.
Please refer to the section "Safety Information"!
Only install the wall lamp on a stable surface. Use screws and plugs that are suitable
for the surface. Use the product only when it is rmly and steadily mounted.
The wall lamp must be installed and used out of the reach of children.
The wall lamp must be protected on the user's distribution board by a 10/16 A fuse.
An earth circuit fault interrupter must be installed before this (residual-current circuit
breaker).
The wall lamp must be voltage-free during installation. It is not suf cient to just turn
off the light switch!
Turn the power off and ensure that none of the poles is live by removing the electric
circuit's fuse or switching off at the circuit breaker. Secure it against unauthorised
reconnection, e.g. with a danger sign.
In addition, switch off the appropriate earth-leakage circuit breaker.
Check that the mains cable is free of current e.g. with an appropriate tester.
Installation and Connection
Pay attention to the information in chapter "Preparations for Installation"!
Remove the mounting plate on the rear of the wall lamp by unfastening both head-
less screws to the left and right. Use the Allen key provided.
If plugs are needed for securing the mounting plate (depending on the condition
of the wall), mark the position of the drill holes through the holes in the mounting
plate. The mounting plate must be mounted horizontally on the wall.
When drilling mounting holes or screwing into place, ensure that no existing
cables or pipes are damaged.
Push the mains cable through the appropriate cable bushing in the mounting plate
and attach the mounting plate to the wall using suitable screws (and wall plugs, if
necessary).
Connect the mains cable using the terminal strip in the wall light's housing (brown
cable = L, blue cable = N, green/yellow cable = PE/earth, earth symbol).
The protective earth wire must be connected!
If the wall lamp replaces an existing lamp and there is not a protective earth
wire available, the lamp must not be installed. First, draw a new mains cable.
In the case where no protective earth conductor is connected, faulty function-
ing of the mains voltage might charge the metal housing of the wall lamp.
There is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
Make sure only the minimum required length of the cable is stripped; otherwise it
could cause a short-circuit.
Also check the other screwing connections at the terminal strip (for the connection
cables of the wall light) and fasten them, if necessary.
Place the wall lamp on the mounting plate. Make sure that the cables of the mains
cable are not pinched and that the sealing ring is placed correctly onto the mounting
plate.
Fasten the wall light on the mounting plate by bolting down the two headless screws
to the left and right.
Insert a suitable bulb, see next chapter "Inserting/replacing bulb".
After inserting the bulb, switch on the mains voltage again and make sure that the
wall light is functioning.
